Prologue
There's something about waiting that makes your life come to a sudden hold. I couldn't remember the last time I had gone a day without wandering what he was doing at the current time, but at least I had gotten something out of my own immortal life back then. Still I began to love him, and somehow I just knew that he would be something to me. That was before I actually knew he would cross my way some time. Things had changed, with the change of visions. Especially one:
He was leaving them. Depression was in his eyes.
"We have talked about this before, so you both know how I feel. I will try traveling by myself for a while", he told them. Peter nodded.
"We are going to miss you, my friend."
He told them both goodbye, Charlotte gave him a quick hug. Peter patted him on the shoulder and looked him in the eyes.
Then he turned and darted away without looking back.
This vision was burned into my memory, and I could still remember every detail of it with perfect clarity. It kept my eyes focused on the fact that he was coming, and made me stop caring as much about my own life. It was the only thing that mattered to me.
Just one problem: I had no idea when.
