Mary

A pretty painting hanging on the wall.
She waits for someone to call.

Escape from this dark, desolate haze.
Will someone not take my place?
If you manage to survive through the maze,
bring me away from these endless days.

My rose is yellow,
jealous yet mellow.
For your blue one is sweeter.
Red too is a pretty colour,
but blue, so much better.

Will you be my friend forever?
Or will you be like all the others?

If I had forgotten to leave someone behind,
it certainly would have led to my demise.

Why would you not let me come with you?
If you had, we could have been happy forever.
You would be my sister,
and we could have eaten a wonderful dinner.

Perhaps, if he had failed, you would all be here with me
having a lovely tea party.

Instead you burned me down with a lighter,
and returned without me.

A pretty painting hanging on a wall.
She never got what she wanted at all.

As a side note, I have no idea how she is narrating if she is dead.
