Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, nor do I own the excerpt from General Science by Dr. Jay L. Wile.

A/N: Okay, so I'm officially a geek. I got this idea while reading an old science book. Don't worry! This is the only chapter with science content. The rest will be the humorous attempts of one Miss Hermione Granger to convince the rest of the world that down is up. OOC, so sue me.

This chapter is dedicated to monkeys. Why? Umm…because they're monkeys?

No Really, Professor! Down is Up!

Hermione Granger was a thinker. She thought and thought and thought. And her thoughts often led to startling (if not somewhat insane) conclusions. Today, she had discovered something gigantic. Something that could change the world! Or at least…provide a little entertainment.

While reading a Muggle science book, Hermione had come upon the following words;

The human eye is a marvelous thing. However, I want you to notice in the figure to the left that once the image actually does get focused on the retina, it is upside-down. The reason we don't actually see things upside-down is that, while we are infants we learn to link the image we see to the object in the outside world. Since we spend time as infants touching everything, we learn the correct orientation of everything, so we become accustomed to flipping the image in our mind so that we see it right-side-up. The actual images on our retina, however, are upside-down.

Hermione did not read any further. She'd just figured it out! She had to tell someone! She ran from the Library, where she'd been reading, and narrowly avoided running into Snape.

"What do you think you are doing, Miss Granger?" Snape hissed angrily.

"I'm sorry, Professor!" cried Hermione. "But I've just found out something amazing!" Snape rolled his eyes.

"And I suppose you want me to believe this-" Hermione cut him off.

"Professor," she cried excitedly. "down is up!"

A/N: Review! Or I will put more science into the next chapter! Muwahahahaha!

Just kidding! I would never do that…..or would I?
