Heyyy~ So a quick little Drabble to kick off my mini-series. Ever hear of the Love Languages? If you haven't, look them up. I'll give you a quick overview, though, for the purpose of better understanding this fic.
The Love Languages are the ways we best receive affection. For example, Mary Sue over there likes to recieve gifts. In other words, she is happiest when her Neko-ninja-pirate-pokemon-knight of a boyfriend buys her things. This doesn't necessarily mean she is materialistic, just that that is the best way for her to feel love. This is "Gifts of Love" (...or something like that ^^") The other Languages are the same way, just modified to their respective forms.
There are 5 Love Languages but I am doing 6 drabbles so Roy and Ed will have an equal amount of PoV's. Please note that this is all going to be sappily sweet!
DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN FMA OR THE LOVE LANGUAGES. JUST THIS FIC IN WHICH I THROW THEM TOGETHER.
Love Languages – Words of Affirmation
Ed wasn't good at saying them – he was hardly ever adequate with vocabulary – but he loved to hear the.
They made him smile, made him blush. Lack of them led, after a time, to small ebbings of doubt. Luckily, Roy knew.
And he never went sparingly on them.
"Your hair," he would mutter softly, "is so much like golden silk." The Flame's rough hand would glide smoothly through Ed's long strands of honey.
"You're too smart for your own damn good!" the raven would complain when blonde cackles would ring out after the former was forced to endure some prank the latter had pulled.
"I need you," the colonel would say in a husky voice, "terribly." The major would always get the point and would always be more than happy to oblige.
"You drive me up a wall…" the older would say in a mixture of irritation and affection as he would assess the damage the younger alchemist had done on that mission.
"I love you," Roy would state. After the first time, it was his favorite thing to say.
It was Ed's favorite thing to hear.
I love these because they are super-easy to write and it helps me practice my fluff! Next up is Roy with "Acts of Service"!
REVIEW and you might get an update before the weekend is out!
