Written for user Estoma's challenge, Alphabet Game 2.0, at the general forum Caesar's Palace. Prompt: Anchor

He has a secret, and the secret is this: he has no secrets.

He falls towards the ocean from the sky, flaming in distress.

Calypso had climbed onto his Festus but she could not go very far before she was zapped back to her island, taking the dragon with her.

He twists and screams into the wind everything he wants the gods to hear, and he thinks they hear it, if the stormy seas have anything to do with it.

Leo thinks he might die now. A child of fire, he was never meant to be around water, and now he's surrounded by it, clinging onto a thin piece of scrap metal that might break and with a heart that is already sinking.

He suddenly remembers the story of Odysseus, how it took him ten years to get home, and he thinks that if it takes him ten years, he might as well just give up now. When he returns, who will be waiting? Who would wait for him?

Then he hits the water like an anchor and is extinguished.
