This is an epilogue of One Day With Him.
It's about time.
I needed some time alone.
I sat on the ground and exhaled. Finally, silence. I closed my eyes and started to gather my thoughts slowly.
"Natsume!"
My eyebrows twitched at the loud high-pitched voice.
"There you are!"
I opened my eyes and saw the idiot's smile, her auburn hair was swinging lightly from the wind's restlessness. She sat infront of me.
"Why do you always hide from me?" She asked with a frown.
"I'm not hiding, idiot." I said lazily.
"Natsume!"
"All you do is rant, huh?"
"I'm not ranting."
"You'll get there."
She curled her eyebrows and stood up.
"Hmpf! Weirdo!" She said, then left me.
I closed my eyes again. The warm breeze suited my mood. The wind brushed my face lightly as I reflected on my own.
I stood up, my ankle got weak again hence, pushing me down, making me sit on the ground.
It was my mission last night that made this injury. A block of concrete fell on my ankle yesterday. That's why she's been following me, to, again, heal my injury. If I cared, I could've gone to the hospital. Why would I give her the chance to injure me more?
I tried to stand up, I succeeded. It's a little painful to walk but I don't care.
People whispered as I walked through the school grounds. I was used to the gossips but ever since they saw me, with her, that night, their intrigue rised an inch or two. But I could care less.
I was limping a little as I walked since it was painful, after all. But I have to endure this, I've got a new mission tonight. I'm gonna get weak again. I clutched onto my medicine inside my pocket as I walked.
"Natsume, are you okay?"
Ruka came walking towards me. Probably, he noticed me, limping.
"Here, let me help you." He said ashe put my left arm over his shoulder and almost carried me towards my room.
"Seriously, Natsume. Look out for yourself. Do you want me to call a nurse?"
I shook my head.
"No, this'll heal my itself." I said as I lied down onm y four-poster king-sized bed.
"Whatever. Jus take care of yourself, I got to go. See you later." Ruka said as he left my room and closed the door.
The atmosphere around class changed. After that night, she asked me the next morning if I like her, thinking that everything that happened was just a dream. But I never answered her. But she would always tell me she felt guilty about something but she never told me what that something is.
Sometimes, I hate her for ranting. I hate it when she opens the door, shouting her greeting for everyone. I just despise her at times, she's so childish and yet...
"I'm coming in!"
I woke up from my contemplation. The idiot came in and closed the door carrying a tin box. She sat on my bed and took my injured ankle , and started treating it without a word.
"You are just the most stubborn boy I've ever known." She said while treating my ankle. "Are you scraed of pain? Ha! Natsume? Scared? Pish tosh."
She seemed to be answering her own questions, which was weird. She never took no for an answer when it came to these things. She repeatedly said "Stubborn Man" as she put bandages on my ankle then let go of it.
"Now, it's dinner time. Let's go eat." She invited with a smile on her face.
I stood up with my bandaged ankle. It wasn't that painful anymore.
"See? I can do miracles!" She said as we left my room. We walked side by side, in silence, without any sign of affection for each other.
"Natsume? Was it just a dream?" SHe asked me for the second time.
I stayed silent. She stopped walking.
"No, I guess this answers my question already. It seems so surreal, you know." She told me with a smile as I stared at her. She held my hand for a few seconds as we walked again, I didn't object, then she let go of it and acted like nothing is between us.
"No." I whispered.
