A/N: Okay guys this is my first attempt at writing a Kingdom hearts story, however flames are welcome and constructive criticism is encouraged got it?

This is a kind of practice thing for one of my upcoming stories The Road To Dusk, It will centre around Riku and the true nature of both darkness and light.(Mainly darkness, as I believe that light is generally for the weak.) Now with that said enjoy the story. (And seriously; review. Even if its a bad review. If I don't get any I may just drop this idea and not bother writing the real story.)

Light was overrated. That was what Riku; at least; thought.

Conversely; darkness; was misunderstood.

Riku stood alone between light and darkness. He alone could wield the power of twilight.

Though light and dark mingled back-to-back inside of him, Riku knew that the light didn't suit him.

No...

He belonged in the shadowy embrace of darkness...

People had very narrow minded views on the darkness. They believed that darkness represented absolute evil. This was not correct. Darkness did not represent absolute evil, just as light did not represent absolute good.

No..There was light in the deepest darkness........Just as there was darkness in the brightest light.

There cannot be one, without the other.

No one understood the darkness like Riku. Darkness was a source of power, a source of pain, a source of fear, despair and strength.

However darkness was a very seductive power. And because most people gave into it, it was viewed as evil.

This was true; in a sense. The only person who had ever wielded darkness for any side other that evil was Riku himself.

Riku was not one to delude himself. He accepted that he was no longer like anybody else. His path was one that he alone could walk.

Nobody could follow his path. Not Sora nor anybody else. So Riku would walk his never ending road, alone....

Riku once told Viz that neither the road of darkness nor the road of light suited him. No; he claimed that the road to dawn was the road he would take.

Now he knew that was wrong. The road to dawn was not the road he would follow.

No...... His road was similar, yet different.

His was not the road to dawn.

It was the road to dusk.........

A/N:So what do you guys think? Should I start a story about Riku's road to dusk? However you should know that I did this short drabble in about half an hour. Naturally I would spend more time on an actual story.

Also Riku may seem really angsty in this but he will not be quite this bad in the road to dusk. He will be more in character, however he will not view darkness as an enemy or as something to be feared. (He kinda reverted back to that in KH2)

The story will be centred after KH2. Riku once again leaves the island when a new enemy emerges from the darkness. Along the way he will have to face many adversaries of both light and darkness, including old friends and new enemies...
