Dean stood there as his brother tried to save Madison, he tried so hard. He knew Sammy and her slept together last night. At the time he wanted to be glad, the guilt and grief over Jessica were beginning to fade away. Sam then walked right out of the room. Dean caught a look at Sam's pained expression. He wanted to take some of that pain away from Sam but he knew he couldn't. What Madison was asking Sam to do was exactly like what Sam was asking Dean to do. Truthfully, Dean wouldn't have had a problem with shooting Madison except for the effect it would've had on his younger brother. He followed Sam out of the room.

"Here, let me do it Sammy. I've got this one."

Of course Sam refused. He was a good person. He was following her wishes, no matter how much he loved her. And yes, Sam did love her. It killed Dean to see Sam standing there, tears streaming down his face, on the verge of breakdown. Sam didn't deserve any of this. A Mom dying who he never got to know. Having to grow up with out a Dad as he was Demon hunting. To have every kid in school call him a freak. Then there was Sam and there Dad's relationship. Dean still remembered those fights. Everything changed the night he left for Stanford. He left his fractured family behind and got friends….and Jessica. The last thing Sam deserved was to lose Jess. He held it together so strong though. Then his damn premonitions started. He woke up every night, drenched in sweat. He had to have so many lived in his hands every time he closed his eyes. He had witnessed so much. Sam then met Sarah. It was hard for Dean to just sit there and watch Sam not get close to Sarah because he was scared of leaving her. They did leave. Then Dean himself slipped into a coma leaving Sam on his own. Just as Dean woke up his perfect day was ruined by his father's spread eagle body on the ground. Dean could feel tears stinging his eyes. Sam then has to deal with this demon coming after him, killing everyone he loves and then turning hi into something he's not. Then there was tonight. Sam felt like he some how murdered Jess, Mom and Dad. Tonight Sam was actually going to pull that trigger. Dean realized that what Sam is doing in the room next to him is what he might have to do himself to his baby brother. Sam had enough courage to do it, if worst came to worst would Dean? Sammy didn't deserve any of this. The single teardrop fell.

BANG

Dean tried not to flinch at the shot that was fired in the room next to him. He heard a body hit the ground then Sam's sobbing as he dropped to his knees.
