A/N: So inspired by Whenever I'm alone with you by the Cure
So I'm not very good in doing long stories, one shots and maybe two chapters are more my forte. I think I might be a bit ADD to do long stories. Here for those who asked me something more for Alex/April.
Hope you enjoy!
He always felt like he was no good, broken beyond repair, instead of gold everything that he touched turned into a huge pile of crap. Everything that ever made him happy, ever gave him hope had always auto-destruct itself. Alex always felt like he never could and never will be able to find peace, like something will always be missing in him.
But that was until she came into his life. There was those small moments where he didn't feel so alone, like he was at home and completly whole. Those same moments made him like all the years of hurt and complete despair had vanished and he felt refreshed and even less old. He could feel like letting go of everything, pain, anger and to even just enjoy life as it came.
April was so very different from him, so perky, jovial and optimist his total opposit. In a way she reminded him of Izzie, the way she used to be when everything was at is best. Maybe that what made him act harsher toward her. Keeping his distance, pushing her away and saying words he didn't always mean, did he ever mean them? Although she started to protect herself from his attacks she had always let a space for him to take refuge in when he was in need. And it was in these moments that he let himself be as vulnerable as he could be.
Whenever they were alone together, when she helped him get through his problem, nightmares and anger, he felt completely free of his baggages, he felt clean of all his sins. She was for him an angel sent to save him from his ways.
And there was those other moments when they were in thei respective group and he might've said something insulting toward her and he could see clearly the pain in her eyes. Those moments of relapse made him always promised for a change, always made him drown in more regrets. He would sent her looks pleading her to forgive him that also said that he didn't forget nor took for granted all she did for him and will probably continue doing for him. And then, the moment when she faintly smile at him with her eyes softening gazing at him, letting him know that as far that he would try to push her, how long he would try to do so and whatever he might say to get rid of her will not work, that she would be there for him. she would try and fight for him. In those moments, he let himself believe that he would do the same for her too. He hope and even pray that he will be able to do so.
