Lunar Crystal-----------------------------------------------------
Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon or any associated characters. She is copywright to Naoko Takeuchi, Dic, and whoever the heck else bought the rights to SM. I do, however, technically own Sailor Nyx (or this version of her) and absolutely own this story. Please do not take my ideas, however you may e-mail me if you wish to use my story for your own use.
Chapter 1- Black Rinday
Nyx sat longingly in her dark, cold room. Even the purple fire was no comfort on that Rinday evening. She wore a long purple gown and her hair was spiked into 5 towers of ebony stone. She looked like a true Nemisis princess, which made her feel even worse.
Tonight was Black Rinday, the holiday to celebrate the birth of Nemisis, and the first mining of Black Crystal. Nyx didn't understand why such a thing was celebrated. In the 12 years she had been alive on the planet, she had celebrated Black Rinday three times. They were all as boring as the last, but Nyx was especially melancholy this Black Rinday. The past week, her mother had been visited by an Oracle. Supposedly, the Oracle had informed Nyx's mother that her daughter was to be picked up by a messenger, and taken to the Outside. Today was the proclaimed date.
"Why!" she sobbed. "Why me? Why not Rolivia, or Sugisiko! Anyone but me!"
Nyx's cries could be heard all over the kingdom's grounds. Even in the tallest tower, from the Ebony Sea to the Valleys of Midnight, the people turned their heads at the sound. Yet after a few second, they all went back to work, shaking their heads in sorrow.
Back in Nyx's room, the door opened, and two strong arms hoisted Nyx onto plated shoulders.
"Father!"
Nyx's father did not speak a word, did not even stare up at his red-eyed daughter.
"Father!"
Nyx scambled to jump off of her father's shoulders, but he held her fast. Soon enough, Nyx was brought outside, into the starry courtyard. The Ebony Sea could be seen crashing against the rocks below the courtyard balcony. This is the direction in which Nyx was taken.
"Father, please don't leave me here! Don't let them do this! It's just a stupid oracle! You know better!"
Nyx was pulled down by another pair of arms as she screamed at her father. These were smooth, and pure white. Like all of the people on Nemisis , these hands had never been charred by the sun. What sun was there?
These hands, belonging to Nyx's mother, pulled the girl tight in her embrace.
"Darling.the Outside is not as bad as you think. You will be well taken care of. My little daughter.you will come to love the light, the flowers, the joys of the world. Do not look back. Never regret. And never forget."
"Mother."
Nyx's mother tied Nyx to the sea outcropping with a thin black thread. It kept her secure enough. As the crowd of onlookers watched, the messenger's arrival was announced. The water quickly rose higher, up to Nyx's shoulders.
"Mother! Father! Don't leave me!"
A silver ribbon of light suddenly flashed through the sea. The onlookers covered their eyes from the blinding light. Nyx stared on, transfixed upon the silver glow.
Nyx thought she was crazy, hearing voices in the water. But, it seemed, others noticed the melodical sounds.
Nyx screamed as the silver ribbon snatched her up from the outcropping.
"Mother! Father! Don't forget me! I'll come back for you someday-"
AUTHOR NOTE: I wrote this story quite a long time ago on my laptop from, like,1990. Unfortunatly, it turned itself off and I lost quite a lot of it. I am attempting to get back into the writing style, and will try to add a few chapters each month. Hope you enjoy!
