se non e vero, e ben trovato….
Even if it isn't true, it's a wonderful invention….
~~~
I want to fly again.
To have these ropes slip
From around my body,
To have the pins fall
Out of my hair,
To have life's sweet breath
Once again fill my lungs.
Is that too much to ask?
Is it?
Too late?
Or can you give me wings?
~~~
Falling into your arms,
I never knew bliss
After you.
Or before you.
I never knew happiness
Within you, around you, because of you.
Yet I felt complete.
A puzzle piece that fits
So tightly, a thousand and one
Pictures of our tragedy.
Murals of our dissatisfaction
Spread out upon gilded walls….
Walls that I built.
That you build.
But who resides in that tower now?
I let my hair down
And you always fall on your climb…
But still the thorns prick my skin
And you feast upon my blood.
~~~
Words said that I never meant to say.
Lies that become realities.
Letting my eyes shut against her fall,
Letting my body rise
Into the stratosphere….
Allowing years of apathy to
Claim my bones.
And I want to hurt.
I want to feel this burden
Of pain.
Not for me.
Not for him.
But for her.
And I no longer ask
Why I began to feel the heat
Of wasted tears
Slide down my face.
Useless tears
For my prince.
~~~
How many little
Points of light
Rest in the night sky?
Some say a million,
Some say more than that….
Or perhaps much, much more.
And do they blink and wink
At you tonight?
Assuring you that
You are not alone, not
Now….not ever.
Can you feel me watching you?
As you watch the stars
Above, your face finally
At peace with the dreams
And the nightmares….
Can you feel me?
For I feel you all around me.
Let the others
Fight for forgotten causes.
Let them struggle
For a power that is already gone.
I fight for the stars now.
And I
Let them lead
Me to you…
Again…..
~~~
