A/N: This has been floating about my head for some time now. Was to be a fully fledged fiction but I decided on a one-shot. I hope you enjoy this slightly depressing fanfiction!

Cedric was anxious about what was about to come.

So far, his parents hadn't spoken to him nor had his Headmaster Dumbledore. What was wrong with everyone? And why were they ignoring him?

"Hello!" Cedric said brightly to his cousin Robyn. Cedric waited for a reply, knowing Robyn wouldn't ignore him – he was her favourite cousin after all.

But Robyn ignored him too, didn't even look up at him. Cedric couldn't help but feel distressed. What had he done that was so wrong no-one wanted to speak to him?

"Robyn? What's wrong? Is it me?" Cedric asked desperately, walking along side his cousin and watching as heavy tears rolled down her chubby cheeks. She said nothing to him and walked on away from him, leaving him to stand alone.

Running a hand through his dark hair, he looked around in desperation. He did not like this game one bit and wished everyone would stop and just talk to him and tell him why everyone was so upset.

His hand dropped to his side and as he turned, he felt instantly enlightened. He had spotted Cho! She was with her parents and was making her way to some chairs that had been laid out on the grass on Cedric's favourite hill to sit on in his home village.

"Cho!" Cedric called with a wave but she merely sat down next to her mother and looked straight forward.

Cedric decided to make his way over to her, dodging all the other people who were still ignoring him. He wasn't actually too sure why all these people were congregating on this hill. Maybe there was a fete or a puppet show or something?

"Hi Cho! How's your summer been?" Cedric asked happily, sitting the other side of Cho and attempted to take her hand in his but Cedric found he couldn't.

"Cho?" Cedric said, trying to grab her hand again and finding he just couldn't touch her. Was this some kind of spell? "Cho, what's going on?" He asked again. No reply.

"Cho! Come on, this isn't funny any more!" Cedric cried, feeling frustrated and hurt at Cho's actions. "Cho please don't ignore me," Cedric said quietly, his frustration getting the better of him. He had enough now.

Cedric tried to touch her face, her hair but couldn't. He tried grabbing her arm, her waist but nothing worked. He stood up and tried to touch his aunt who sat behind Cho. Nothing.

"What's going on?" Cedric cried but no-one looked up or replied.

Lost and confused, Cedric turned his attention to the place everyone else seemed to be looking at. They were looking at a wizard dressed in black.

Furrowing his brow, Cedric sat back down and listened to the words the wizard was saying.

"Cedric Diggory was a model student and an excellent sportsman. We are gathered here today to pay our respects to a brave young man who was tragically taken long before his time..."

Cedric stopped listening and stood up a again. Why were they speaking about him as if he were dead?

Wait.

Cedric took a few steps back in disbelief. He could remember...something.

The last Task, the maze, the giant spider. The Cup. That graveyard, so cold and strange. Harry looking to him, not knowing what to do.

Those words.

His fade to grey.
