Beetle In The Box: A Christmas One-Shot

Hey there. To get in the spirit of things, I decided to write a short story about our favourite Goth chick, and the Ghost with the Most. I'm no good at writing sappy stuff, so please be kind . . . Ok, forget kind, just be truthful.

"Hey Babes." A voice called from the mirror. Lydia looked up from her drawing to see Beetlejuice, calling her from the mirror. "Merry Christmas." Smiled the Ghost.

"Merry Christmas, Beej." Lydia smiled. "C'mon, Lyds." Said Beetlejuice. "I've got something to show you." "I'll be right there." Answered Lydia, grabbing a flat, rectangular gift from under her bed.

"Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice." She said. Suddenly the world started to spin. When it stopped, Lydia found herself on a balcony. Beetlejuice was wearing a red and green, striped suit, complete with a matching tie and Santa hat. He looked so funny, Lydia found herself giggling.

"Is the outfit too much?" Beetlejuice asked. "We'll lose the suit then." He clicked his fingers and the suit disappeared, to be replaced by his usual attire. "I'm keeping the hat, though." He indicated to the hat, which was still on his head.

Suddenly, glow-bugs started to fly around in the air. "They look like they're making pictures." Smiled Lydia, clapping with sheer delight. Little did she know, the Poltergeist had asked them to make Christmas-type pictures, in exchange for their survival (for the rest of the year, at least).

"Here, Babes." Beetlejuice passed Lydia a badly wrapped gift. Lydia opened the white and black, striped, wrapping paper and found a photo frame covered in fake black and white striped bugs, which wriggled around the frame. "Thank you Beej." She smiled.

"Here's your gift, Beej." Said Lydia, handing over her gift. Beetlejuice ripped it open, and saw the most beautiful drawing of him and Lydia together. "Thank you, Lydia." He said, holding back tears of joy.

Next thing they knew, the bugs were above their heads, in the shape of mistletoe. Both Lydia and Beetlejuice blushed, as neither of them were expecting it.

"Oh well." Beetlejuice shrugged, after abit of silence. "If you can't beat em, join em."

BJ: Oh, c'mon. Like that would really happen.

BC: Meh. -shrugs- Anywho, as they say every Christmas. . .

Lyds: Merry Christmas to all, and to all-

BJ: -butting in-Smell ya later!
