CHAPTER 1: Normal No More
I was extremely pissed at Andrew. I glared at him and he burst out in pain. Ever since I discovered this weird thing, I've been able to cause people pain by staring at them and focusing. It really helps if I am angry at them. I've also tried it with sunglasses but it just doesn't work that great, sometimes not at all. Andrew fell to the floor gasping.
"Would you stop doing that?" Andrew said to me. He knew about what I could do. He called them 'powers'.
"You know they're connected to my emotions Andy." I replied. I knelt next to him as his breathing was becoming normal. I quickly pulled on my sunglasses before he looked up at me. "I'm sorry, it's just you yelled at me."
He looked at me with apologetic eyes and said "I know they are. I didn't mean to yell at you."
I stepped out of the camper and looked at the map. "How far? Where are we?" I asked him. He shrugged and took the map. After twisting and turning it a few ways he smiled and replied 'Not too far'. I ran away when I first developed these 'powers' because my parents neglected me more than they did before. If verbal abuse wasn't bad enough, try physical abuse.
"You know, maybe we should go to your parents for help." Andrew said trying to reason with me. "They may hate you, but they'll probably be more willing to send you away to this Xavier Institute."
I growled at him and almost ripped off my sunglasses. He put his hands up in defense. "Listen, I told them I'd NEVER need their help. They said I would and when I came crawling for help, they'd pay no attention. They tried to KILL ME, Andrew. Kill, as in going up and away forever." I told him. "I'm NOT going back to those bitches."
"Alright, calm down. Go get some more sleep. It's my turn get the snacks." Andrew told me before going into the tiny gas station Wendy's™. I huffed and went back into the green camper we hot wired. I sat down at the table and awaited for my food. 2 minutes later Andrew walked in and handed me the Wendy's™ bags. I looked at him puzzled and he pushed the bag towards me after I set it down as if he meant to say 'eat'.
"How are you going to eat? Your driving." I told him. He shrugged and sat in the driver's seat.
"Feed me then." he replied opening his mouth. I laughed at that and threw a french fry at him. He started the car as 3 teenagers walked up to our camper and knocked on our door. Andrew slowly opened it and they stepped in.
One with brown hair spoke up and said "Hey girly, you on the news. You a mutant."
"Yeah, you can't threaten this here innocent guy no more. He ain't gonna help you." another one said. Oh my fudging God. I'm on the news! I love that I'm getting attention, but I wish it was for something else. Either way, I'm on TV! Then I realized that the 3 teenagers had guns. Andrew looked at my eyes and nodded. I ripped off the sunglasses and stared at the 3 guys. They instantly double over in pain and fled the camper. I put the sunglasses back on and sat down in the passenger seat as the camper started moving.
1 HOUR LATER...
We pulled up to a big mansion that had a sign that said 'Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters'. We parked the camper and kids ran out to greet us. A bald guy in a wheelchair came up to me and shook my hand. "Welcome Bridget Shepard." he said warmly.
