The redhead stood in line in her green gown, anxiously waiting for her turn. She couldn't help but think back over her time at Barden and all that she achieved, especially with her Bella sisters. Not to mention one particular brunette Bella who captured her heart so long ago. The highs, the lows, the parties. The championships. The tests. She knew she'd miss this place once she was gone. Honestly, she had no clue how she wasn't crying. She did her best to look out at the crowd, trying her best to see if she could catch a glimpse of her family who supported her over the years. She knew they were out there somewhere, waiting to hear her name be called. It would be soon, she was nearing the front of the line. She knew they, and her other Bella sisters both in the crowd and in line with her would be cheering. At last her time came as she gave the slip with her name on it to the announcer. She hitched her trademark megawatt smile imediately, waiting for him to call out.
"Bella Irene Mitchell."
As she predicted, loud cheers. She smiled as she caught the eye of her girlfriend across the stage whose name was also about to be called.
"Guinevere Regina Posen."
~~~In the stands~~~
"Oh my god Bree, our babies are college graduates." Chloe said, grasping the blonde's hand after Gwen's name was called.
"I know Chlo, it seems like just yesterday I was here cheering for you, Stacie, and the rest of the Bellas." Aubrey said, wiping a tear from her eye. "I remember it like it was yesterday, hard to believe it's been almost thirty years."
"I think there's another reason you remember it." Beca teased.
"Hush, B, my daughter's about to speak." Stacie said as Gwen was called to give the speech where the students would move their tassels from the right to the left.
"I want to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to be the one giving this speech." Gwen began, looking out at the crowd before her. "Today is special for many reasons. Not just because we've finally graduated. As has already been said, we've all worked long and hard to get here, and we've got so many opportunities ahead of us. But for me, today is also special because of what occurred exactly twenty-eight years ago today in this very stadium. If not for that day, I wouldn't be standing here before you now. That was the day where my mother Stacie, giving this exact same speech, took the opportunity to propose to her girlfriend, my other mother Aubrey, herself someone who gave this speech. So mom, mama, thank you so very much for everything. I'm proud to say I've been given permission to follow in their footsteps. My mothers didn't meet till they were in college, but I've been fortunate to have known my girlfriend all my life, we were born hours apart actually, so neither of us has any excuse to forget the other's birthday. She's been there with me for everything. She means the world to me, and looking out, I can already see she's crying those happy tears she does because she knows what's coming. So, Bella Mitchell..."
"YES!" Bella cried out before Gwen even got the chance to say those four magic words.
Note 2: Sappy I know, but it's the kind of thing I like, so *shrugs* You'll be happy to know I've worked out the problem I was having with first chapter of The Right Chloe After Dark, so look for that to come soon. Till then, peace out awesome nerds, and congrats once again to all those graduating this year.
