Reminiscing
A dealer casts to Ed his fateful cards,
Dressed four a kind, not for a glance and play.
Ed tightens up, with his body on guard,
To peek at any message they relay.
Revealing mirrors staring into him,
He sees apparitions of his old self,
Discussing decisions deduced on whims
To find a meaningful, personal wealth.
Jewels of night. The trigger finger whispers
As the nervous prayers bounce wall to wall.
A truth escapes. A relation blisters
For lost lovers to embrace after all.
So Ed relaxes, his tension relieved.
A struggle well worth it? That he believes.
