You are no longer certain which side of the fence is the dream.
I couldn't help but think to myself as I looked into Ranger's dark eyes. I fought to keep mine open. I felt the need to close them and relish this moment. To commit every touch, every sensation to memory. As if any moment, I would wake up and be alone in my bed with only foggy memories of a quickly dissolving dream.
"Stephanie." He whispered close to my lips, and my whole body responded to his call.
I held him tighter, refusing to lose him, his touch, his kiss.
I kissed him with all I had. Determined for him to feel what I had been afraid to say for so long. Willing him to understand.
Sensing my desperation, he match my intensity.
This must be a dream.
Please. Please, don't wake up!
Where his hands caressed me, felt as if it left a trail of fire in their wake.
I wonder if he feels it too.
The heat.
The passion.
The love.
That last thought took my breath away.
As if hearing my internal plea, he broke the kiss and tilted my chin slightly, commanding me to look him in the eye.
"I love you, babe."
…...
Short and steamy.
Thanks!
