A Bolin and Eska Fanfiction
By Nagone
Summary: Eska
Genre: Hurt/Comfort
Rated: T
Eska knew she had made a mistake when she'd slept with Bolin.
It had been a one time fling, a way to ensure she'd kept him fondly in her heart. She'd played it as an experiment, but it had been more, so much more.
She'd forgone any form of protection, claiming that she'd never be with child: after all, waterbending had endeared her to the moon's cycles, and with it, had synchronized her own female functions. Eska had only done this because she knew pregnancy was not in her future.
Yet as she sat, alone in her bedroom in the Norther Water Tribe stronghold, she knew she'd made a mistake.
Bolin wouldn't return. He wouldn't come back. He was off with the Avatar, traversing the realms, wooing women and learning all manner of things. Eska had no one to blame but herself: she'd let him go, told him that it was done. Now though, eyeliner smeared on her cheeks, she needed more than the past to comfort her.
She needed the father of her child.
She promised she'd think of him fondly, but now, with the new life blooming inside of her, she wanted him, needed him, more than she could have wished. A tear rolled down her cheek, and she wrapped her arms around her stomach, the thrum of potential in her stomach.
"Bolin," she whispered, voice soft as a sparrow's cry, "I need you, my turtledove."
She could only hope that somehow, Bolin would hear.
