Author's Note: Liz as a character fascinates me, so this is me trying to get inside her head.
She knows what she is, a freak. The reason her parents kept moving, got divorced, are now dead. Even before it happened she was too quiet, too serious, too introspective to be the ideal child. They would have had happier lives without her.
They all make sure she knows (as if she could ever forget). The kids at school, the teachers, the foster parents, the social workers, their eyes and mouths all scream "freak, problem child, dangerous, unplacable". She can't run fast enough or far enough to escape it, so she just runs.
