A sixteen year old Hinata laid on her bed, unable to sleep. Tonight was the anniversary of when Itachi came to say goodbye to her. Hinata still couldn't believe, even after nine years, that Itachi could do such a cruel thing like kill off his entire clan. She learned what happened from when she overheard her father talking to a friend about it. 'It's just so hard to believe.' Hinata thought to herself. Hinata sighed and turned to her side while pulling the blanket over her head. She started to recall the first time when her and the Uchiha first met.

A seven year old Hinata ran as fast as she can through the woods with tears running down her eyes. Once again she overheard her father telling some people from the main house how weak she was and was considering on disinheriting her and making her a member of the branch family. She could handle her father calling her weak, but hearing that he would go as far as sending her to live with someone else made it the final straw. Her plan was to run as far away as possible where no one could ever find her.

Hinata kept running and running and running until she finally stopped when she could no longer run. She panted heavily and sat at the base of a large tree. Hinata lifted her knees up to her face and hugged them tightly and started to cry even harder than when she was running.

Why was she so weak? Hinata could remember putting her all into her training so how come it isn't paying off. Hinata hugged her knees tighter and cried that hardest that she ever has. She hated being like this, she didn't ask for this. 'I hate my life.'

"What's wrong?" a young and serious voice asked.

Hinata stopped crying and looked up to see a boy at the age of twelve or thirteen with dark hair in a ponytail with onyx eyes that had lines that went down from them, wearing black shirt with the Uchiha emblem on back and white shorts. Seeing the boy made Hinata blush a little.

"N-Nothing..." Hinata stammered as she wiped away her tears, "I-I just t-tripped and f-fell."

"You're lying." the boy said bluntly.

Hinata just blushed and turned away. She didn't want to talk to anyone right now.

"Are you going to tell me what's wrong?" the boy asked as he crouched a little to get a better look at the girl in front of him.

Hinata just continued to look away from the boy, hoping that he would just go away but it appears as though that won't be happening. When Hinata turned to face the boy she blushed at how close he was.

"M-My father doesn't w-want me because I-I'm weak." Hinata finally answered with tears started well up in her eyes.

The boy's expression didn't change at the answer but he did sigh. 'So much like my younger brother.' He then took a seat next to Hinata.

"You know, if you want, I can help you." he then said out of the blue.

Hinata giggled as she remembered just sitting there in shock at how a stranger would just offer to help but in a desperate need to get strong she said yes. Soon Hinata became strong enough for her father to stop considering on disinheriting but she wanted to go even further than that. Unfortunately, Itachi left so it was back to training on her own and in time she managed to become strong enough to just become a jounin. A smile came on Hinata's face and she came out of the blankets.

"Thank you Itachi," she then said to herself.

"For what?" a deep voice then said out of the blue

Hinata jumped at the question and turned towards her window, that was now opened, and saw Itachi standing beside it.

"Itachi, you're back!" Hinata said in shock
