An: Merry Christmas! I originally wrote this for the Butch Hartman christmas project where people drew fan-art and worte short stories and then the person who started the project made the submissions into a Christmas gift for Butch. This story was kind of a random idea that popped into my head.
Disclaimer: I do not own Danny Phantom.
Sam had always loved spending Christmas with Danny's family. Her parents had never truly understood her and even before she and Danny had started dating, the Fenton's had treated her like part of the family. Her parents never liked Danny and it was always uncomfortable when she would bring Danny over. She didn't care though. Danny was the love of her life.
Danny had a very special gift for her this year. He had decided it was time to take the next big step in their relationship. He had been debating this decision for months, but he had finally made up his mind. He loved her with all his heart and that's all that really mattered.
Once Jack had finished passing out the gifts, it didn't take long for everyone to finish opening them. They all began to show off the different gifts they had recived, but it eventually calmed down.
"Looks like the gift giving is finished," said Sam.
"Not just yet," Danny replied with a grin. The 22 year-old slowly pulled a black velvet box out of his pocket as he got down on one knee. "Sam, I love you with all my heart. You are truley the love of my life." He gently opened to box to reveal an amethyst ring with a black pearl on each side. "Will you marry me?" he asked.
"Of course I will!" Sam answered as tears of joy ran down her face. Normally, she'd never let anyone see her cry, but at the moment she was too happy to care.
Danny smiled and slipped the ring onto her finger. He returned to his spot next to her on the couch and gently kissed her.
"Congratulations you two! I always knew you'd end up together." Jazz exclaimed.
"My little boy is getting married!" Maddie cried.
"I always knew you'd end up marrying her son. I'm so proud of you," Jack said.
"Merry Christmas, Sam." Danny whispered as they pulled apart.
That ring was truley the best gift she had ever gotten. To Sam, it was a symbol of the never-ending love she and Danny shared. She knew her parents wouldn't be happy whe she told them the news, but she didn't care. She never really cared what they thought about her anyway and her grandmother would stick-up for her if she needed it. Sam knew just as well as Danny did that their love would last forever.
