Disclaimer:I do not own Inuyasha. These are not my characters.
I wrote this on a Saturday morning and thought that you guys should see it too. Let me know what you think.
Inuyasha sat in the tree near the well as he usually did the days that Kagome wasn't there with him. He was thinking about what Kagome meant to him and if he should tell her.
Would she feel the same way or would she put an arrow through his heart as Kikyo had? Kikyo. Just saying her name made him feel things that he knew he no longer felt. Kagome was the one he should focus his attentions on. Right?
Just then there was a tapping at the base of the tree, it was Shippo the little fox demon. He was just as attached to Kagome as he was, but his feelings towards her were that she was like a mother to him. Inuyasha gestured to him that it was all right for him to come up into the tree.
"Are you all right Inuyasha?" He asked. "You've been spending an awful lot of time in this tree."
Was he all right? Maybe. They still hadn't found Naraku and Kagome wasn't here to keep him company. He wasn't completely fine but then again, Shippo had come from the village to talk to him so he deserved a decent answer.
"Yes, Shippo, I'm fine. Just waiting for Kagome that's all." His voice was gruff and he had said that with less feeling than he had meant it to have.
Shippo just looked at him. The little fox had grown several inches since they had first decided to take him with them. By "They" he meant Kagome. That girl had Inuyasha wrapped around her finger. If she wanted to do something then more often then not Inuyasha was inclined to let her.
"Inuyasha? Do you love Kagome?" Shippo asked. The question was so out of the blue that Inuyasha actually lost his balance and fell out of the tree. The thud didn't sound like it hurt but it was pretty resonant. No more than five seconds had passed than Inuyasha was back in the tree looking at Shippo with vexation.
"What kind of question is that?" he snapped. Inuyasha looked slightly frazzled, there was a leaf in his white hair and dirt on his face. His ears, which had been relaxed and folded, were now sticking straight up and were twitching occasionally.
"Well are you going to answer or not?" Shippo retorted. He was only a child, what did he know about love? Inuyasha shifted from one foot to the other clearly uncomfortable. Shippo just stood there, looking up at him expectantly.
"Well…Shippo…you see…" Inuyasha was fumbling. He didn't know how to say what he needed to without Shippo getting the wrong idea. Luckily he didn't have to; Kagome was coming out of the well. He could just see the top of her yellow bag peeking out of the top.
Without warning Inuyasha jumped out of the tree and ran towards the well. Shippo was still in the tree yelling for him to come back and help him out. When he realized that yelling for Inuyasha wasn't going to get him anywhere he stopped and decided to watch.
He picked up Kagome by her backpack and set her back on the ground gently. Shippo saw that Inuyasha's eyes had gone soft and when Kagome's back was turned his eyes were filled with tenderness.
Shippo jumped out of the tree and started towards the village. He had the answer to his question and couldn't wait to tell Sango what he had found out.
Well what did you think? Let me know, Oh and if you leave an anonymous review please put your name. I'd really like to know who is giving me praise. Thanks.
