Will Dreams Come True

She surfaced the water after taking a bath in the Silent Falls. This had been her home for eight of her twelve years of life. Her past wasn't what you would call perfect. In fact she tried often to forget it. But her thoughts always strayed off of training to it.

A flock of birds flew from near by. Voices could be heard not too far away.

She hurriedly donned her clothing and grabbed her arrows. She perched on a nearby tree and waited.

As the voices came closer she prepared for an ambush. Suddenly a silver haired boy (about the same age as her) came onto the forest path. She aimed her bow. But she didn't fire. Instinct or something told her not to. Then, just as she prepared to jump down, a girl appeared behind him. She shot her arrow right in front of the duo. As they looked up she disappeared and appeared right behind the boy. She grabbed his mouth and held a kunai to his throat.

"Who are you and why are you here?" she demanded. The girl spun around.

"Don't even think about it sweetheart, put the shuriken down" she said.

She sniffed. Blood. She jumped away. The two were now on there guard. She dropped her kunai and walked toward them. The girl got into the fighting position, but the boy didn't. "Strange," she thought "I'm supposed to be a threat."

The girl walked up to him. The blood scent was stronger "it must be him" she thought.

She stepped closer and noticed a long pale scar down his one red eye. No it was too old to be the scent's origin. She grabbed his hand and he flinched. The girl had long dropped her weapon and watched in a daze.

"I wonder if she understands English" she asked the boy.

"The girl swung her head and replied "Clearly, so if you would, shut up …thank you."

She then grabbed the boys shirt and pulled it up. The skin was pulled back to reveal raw pink flesh. The cut was ragged and blood seeped from it.

"I suggest if you expect to survive you follow me. I have healing equipment at home to help you."

"Why should we trust you?"

"Because if you don't he will die." Shuni turned. "Besides, if I wanted to kill you, I would have already done so."

Shuni's house loomed high, almost to the tree tops themselves. She stopped at the entrance.

Spinning around she asked them "I have a rule about not allowing strangers in my home. So I ask you your names."

He stopped to think about if he should or shouldn't give his name. He looked at his friend.

"My name is Rin" the girl said softly.

The boy looked at her and then to Shuni.

"My name is Kakashi."

"So, since that is over with, let us go inside" Shuni said.

Once inside Shuni pointed to a couch for Kakashi to sit on. Rin followed suit. Then with a flick of her hand, the nearest kitchen cabinet opened swiftly. Then with another similar movement, a teapot flew out at Rin.

"Could you do me a favor and fill that up at the stream outside?" Shuni asked Rin.

Rin looked at Kakashi with a questioning look. He merely returned the look.

"If I was going to kill him, I would have slit his throat before." Shuni said, seemingly reading her mind.

She got up and approached the door. Then she thrust it outward and entered the elevator shaft. Shuni took her seat beside Kakashi.

"Okay," she said "healing time."

Screaming filled the forest.
