What You Leave Behind

A/N: This is my first Harry Potter fan fic. I would really like reviews on it, since I have only ever watched the movies up until the half blood prince and read the first book. I'm also not all that familiar with things in England. So if you can correct any of my mistakes, please do.

Also don't hate me for what happens in this story. But I like my idea.

Description: In war, we always lose something. Harry and Ron lost a friend, and Ginny lost her one true love. Although they won, but at the cost of many lives. Including one that meant more then the world, Hermione Granger. One of the thousands to have been killed in this war. But there is one thing, Hermione never told anyone.

Prologue

It was war. What did I expect? Of course we're going to lose friends, family and other people too. And even I knew I might die. But... it was so sudden. It still plays over and over in my mind.

I was running about, hexing as many Death Eaters as I could. I felt the blood pumping in my ears, and I was gasping for breath. Then, after so long. The battle ended. Voldemort had killed Harry.

"HARRY NO!" I screamed, horrified. As I saw his pale, limp body lay there. I had just lost my friend.

I was angry, upset. And in my rage, I did the stupidest thing ever. I attacked Voldemort, I sent a curse – I don't remember which one. But when I did, he easily deflected it and he shot the death spell at me.

I didn't have any time to react, it collided with my chest. And then all feeling went numb, hearing was silent, and sight was black.

It was the end for me.
