The afternoon sky was clear. Sanzo stopped a moment to admire it. It was perfectly blue. He stopped, eyes still aimed towards the sky, and sat down, propping himself up against a tree. He lit a smoke and inhaled.
Breathe in, breathe out. There wasn't much else to life really. He watched the smoke drift upwards.
Something above him caught his eye. An airplane. An orange paper airplane. It looped once then landed nose first beside him. His pupils dilated and something in his chest throbbed without warning.
Damn.
"There it is….oh uh, hi Sanzo." Goku's voice broke threw the memories playing out in the monks head. He looked down awkwardly at the blond. Sanzo just stared at him. Feeling a little uncomfortable he reached down and picked up the piece of origami. "I can't get it to fly straight." Goku said, offering a small smile.
"To many folds." Sanzo mumbled around his smoke.
"Wha?" Goku looked confused.
"Straighten the wings, it wont loop so much." Sanzo grunted. Goku blinked, shocked, but he smiled anyways. He sat down beside the priest.
"Like this?" Sanzo watched as Goku gently flattened out the creases in the planes wings. The blond nodded. Goku beamed at him, stood up and tossed the plane into the air.
The orange floated across the blue.
"It's beautiful." Goku whispered with a smile. Sanzo stared at his monkey. He felt a smile tug at his lips. He grunted in agreement.
"You o.k. Sanzo?" Goku asked concerned, noticing the odd look on the priest face. Sanzo's eyes never left the sky. He let himself smile and put a hand on his monkey's head.
"Baka Saru."
