Title: An Unspoken War
Note: This chapter was formally published as part of 'Musical Moments', which was a fic made up of separate little stories for each chapter, each in response to Gater 101's Music Challenge. Which involved playing a randomly generated piece of music from your player and writing whatever story comes to mind, but only for as long as the track lasts. It was challenging, but fun and resulted in seven different chapters. As I am thinking of taking some of those little stories further, I need to separate the chapters out. So, sorry for republishing (though it gives me a chance to edit out mistakes!) and sorry for those who were kind enough to leave reviews to 'Musical Moments' as I have now deleted it! I appreciated the reviews and am sorry to remove them. I highly recommend listening to the piece of music listed as you read the fic! Enjoy.

Song: Movies – by Alien Ant Farm
He didn't know Kanaan could fight, but that fact had arrived too late to make any difference. The violence of the 'friendly sparring match' did not go unnoticed to those standing around the sides of the new larger gym. The clash of bantos rods roared in John's ears, the vibration of the impacts travelling painfully down his arms. The fire of the man was clear and John had no idea what had sparked it off now, but he understood where it was coming from.
At first he tried to control the hits, but soon the anger and aggression from Kanaan got to him and he couldn't ignore the fight he had been pulled into.
His own fire raged in his belly as he struck back, catching Kanaan's forehead, opening up a gash that trailed blood as they swung round each other. John spun, dropped and lashed out catching the man around the back of his knees, but instead of falling the man flipped backwards returning to his feet and rushed at John.
Ready for the attack John stared down the man running towards him shouting and violent.
Teyla's shout brought it all to an end, but not the confrontation in Kanaan's eyes - staring into John's as the battle waged on unseen.
