All was still and silent in the Davis home. On this particular late August day, Andy had gone across the street to play with Maxie while Mom had taken Molly to run some errands.

Jessie peeked into the living room. "There it is, Buzz!" She said to the Ranger behind her. "Mom's new treadmill!'"

Buzz stared at the large black machine. The bottom looked like a conveyor belt and attached to the two handles there was a screen with all sorts of buttons on it.

"C'mon Slowpoke!" Jessie grabbed his hand. "Let's get us a better look!"

As she pulled Buzz onto the belt, he said, "I'm not sure if we're supposed to be playing on this…"

"Aw, don't be such a worrywart!" Jessie teased with a bright grin. Immediately Buzz felt his stomach do a flop. There was no way he could say no to that smile.

Jessie turned and started to shimmy up one of the support beams. "What are you doing?" Buzz asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Seeing how it works!"

"I've been on a treadmill before," said Buzz as he watched her reach the top. "All you do is run along with the belt!"

"I mean how do ya turn it on?" Jessie was on her knees now, pushing all the buttons at once. There was a hum and numbers flashed on the screen. "Hah! Gotcha!"

The belt started to move slowly. Buzz, being a natural athlete, could easily pace along with it.

"Aw that's too slow!" Jessie lamented as she watched. There were two arrows on the panel and she pressed one until the number reached five. The belt began to move much faster, but Buzz could still keep up.

"Yee-hah!" Jessie cheered. "Ride that sucker!"

Buzz grinned and saluted. Getting an idea, he bent over and stood on his hands, moving them along with the belt while his legs were in the air. He looked to see if she was impressed. "How am I doing?"

"Purdy good, Partner!"

Buzz's arms were getting tired and he moved himself back upright. As he began to jog again, the Cowgirl started looking at the screen. "I wonder how fast this thingy goes…"

Buzz's head snapped up. "What? No!" Too late. Jessie had pressed her finger to the up arrow and the numbers sped to fifteen.

The belt began to speed out of control. Buzz tried to run along with it but it was no use. He flew backward off the treadmill and crashed into the VCR cabinet.

"Buzz!" Jessie cried. "Oh no!" She turned off the treadmill and slid down the beam.

As she reached the dazed action figure, she bent down and shook him. "Buzzy! Are you ok?"

Buzz looked at her in bewilderment. "Hamm?"

Jessie frowned. Placing her hands on her hips, she said, "Hamm? You ain't calling me a pig, are ya Buzzy?"

Trying to shake off his confusion, Buzz gave her a lopsided grin. At the sight of it, Jessie's frown vanished and she began to giggle. She took his hand. "You ok, Partner? Need some ice?"

Buzz waved her off as he sat up. "Nah. Never better."

It was a little while later when Woody came downstairs to get the crossword puzzle that he heard whooping and hollering from the living room. Inside he could see Buzz and Jessie racing on the treadmill.

"Betcha I can reach the front before than you!"

"You're on Cowgirl!"

Both of them began to run faster, trying to reach the support beams. Jessie was the first to touch one.

"Hah! I win!" She cheered as she stopped, forgetting that the belt was still moving. It carried her backward and she crashed into Buzz, sending both of them to the floor in a tangled up mess.

They laughed uncontrollably until Buzz looked up and spotted Woody in the doorway. "Oh, um…hello."

Woody rolled his eyes before leaving for the kitchen. "You two are so weird."
