Disclaimer: I do not own Tris or Namorn (they are Tammy s), but the plot and Miravin are mine
------------
Miravin Ruing, a dark tan girl with black hair and greyish-silver eyes of age 9, was walking about in the marketplace in Hemanajad, a city just outside Namorn's eastern border. She was walking with a basket containing an assortment of bits of stones, crystals, glass, and some cheap cord.
She worked for Melees Coring, a metal merchant, and he paid her 10 kavs a day. This was an incredible amount, and she was lucky to have found such a job. She had a small hutch in a community cave, where the rule was first come first serve, and she had gotten a cheap home. Digging a new area for today s treasures, she placed the basket in the hole. Greeting her roomate, Trandry, a black trader girl sent away from her caravan, to study magical arts, because they said she had it. She didn't though, so she left with only her staff.
On her half-day off, the next day, she began running over the week s treasures. She worked and polished until it was late in the afternoon, and she felt exhausted. She returned to the shop and began to organize and when she felt strong enough to, she looked for things that seemed to glint and shine more than others, and she set those aside.
Trisana Chandler,a redheaded mage who wore glasses and had her hair always in braids, was walking with her friend Daja and her teacher Niko discussing magical affairs, leaving the other group by themselves.
She had just escaped Namorn, and ran into Niko, outside the country. She knew she might not get a chance to talk about magical matters for a while, because Niko often was traveling.
Daja dragged her group to a large metal stall, where a bunch of pieces seemed better made than those of the other stalls. a girl in a loose lavender shirt, and a billowing white skirt. The girl smiled and introduced herself as Miravin, and she mentioned that she worked there
Daja mind-spoke. "Tris! Look carefully at that girl."
Tris looked, and saw that the girl, had a very bright blue cloud, which was very unusual.
Daja then went to look at a gold crane with ruby eyes, and she asked how much it would be to purchase a sheet of copper. The shopkeeper told her it would be one gold akol. She handed him the money, and took the bright shiny copper. She tucked it into her belt-purse, and hurried to catch up with Tris.
They walked to their temporary lodging, at Pine Drop Temple, one of the many temples a part of the web that connected to Winding Circle. Niko was there, as part of a new program. He was training some other seers how to recognize the many signs that any temple might put out, when in a certain situation. One such sign was something like a spherical web, stored in a stone so only a bit of magic was needed to activate the signal. This particular symbol, he explained was for a raid of some kind, where the temple was in danger of being overrun.
When they entered the guesthouse Niko waked over to his mirror. He gazed at it , as if in a trance. He saw nothing but blue for a minute, then he saw the sign for raid, and at the defenses' head, a young woman who was in a pair or tan breeches, and a loose blue tunic.
