Author's Note: An Odesta oneshot that was not edited by my grammar freak, Katelyn, so hopefully it's okay grammar wise. This was inspired by Pink's song Glitter in the Air which I was listening to when I wrote this. (The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn/The thunder before the lightning, the breath before the phrase/Have you ever felt this way?) ENJOY!

Annie Cresta stood in a white dress looking out at the beach. It was almost looked like a movie; as she stood there, her dress flowed in the breeze, her hair was blown back by the wind and her arms were tight across her chest. But this wasn't a movie. This was the night before the Reaping that would take Annie away, but she didn't know this yet. Neither did Finnick as he walked up the beach toward Annie, wearing bathing trunks and a gray tee shirt. The sand squished between his toes as he made his way over to Annie, wondering why she had called. Why did she ask him to meet her here? When he approached her, she did nothing.

"Is everything okay?" he asked immediately.

She nodded her head. "Fine," she responded. She had called Finnick here because… well she wasn't quite sure. She just wanted to see him. The Reaping tomorrow; she was eighteen now and it was her last year, and the odds were in her favor, but ever since the Games took Finnick she was always more nervous that they would take her. And things were never quite the same when he came back. "Remember when we used to swim here all day," she said as she stared out at the dark sea. There they were, thirteen year old Annie and fourteen year old Finnick, swimming and splashing in the ocean until Annie's mother came and made Annie go to bed and Finnick went home. Well, he went home and came back and snuck through her bedroom window where they stayed awake all night. Finnick left before sunrise so his parents didn't realize he was missing and so Annie's mother didn't catch them. That was the day the Hunger Games stole him.

He put his arms around her waist from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder. He looked out at the ocean and saw the same thing Annie did. The night before Finnick left. The day everything changed. But they were adjusting now. Finnick wasn't quite the same but they were used to it, and he was getting better. He began to kiss her neck and she couldn't hide her smile as she felt his lips, hot on her skin. She turned around and wrapped her arms around his neck, about to kiss him. "Catch me," he said as he sprinted away, right when their lips were about to touch.

Annie laughed and sprinted after him, into ankle deep water. She jumped on his back, "Gotcha." And they laughed and had good time, just like before. But they were older and things were different. And Annie wondered, if the Games hadn't taken him away, would things be like? But she didn't think they'd be much different, just more… sane.

Finnick stumbled around until they were on the part of the beach where the waves only reached occasionally and the sand was wet. Finnick laughed as he made Annie slide down his back and lay on the sand. He was on top of her now and they were kissing and he wondered if this is what the Games took from him, more of these moments. But he also wondered if the Games are what gave him these moments. And their lips were about to touch when Annie wiggled out from under Finnick. "Catch me," she whispered and ran into the ocean. He just stood there for a moment and admired the beautiful girl he was so lucky to have. And she turned around and smiled that irresistible smile and her green eyes sparkled even in the darkness. So he ran after his beautiful Annie and wrapped his arms around her, lifting her out of the water. "Gotcha."

And the next day was just like the day exactly five years earlier, but this time Annie would slip through his fingers and into the Capitol's.
