Hi everyone! This is the first time I published a fanfic so please don't be too harsh on me. Also English isn't my first language so I'm sorry for any errors.

Disclaimer : I do not own Harry Potter or any of the characters.

So please enjoy this short one-shot.

It was Teddy's third year at Hogwarts when Harry mentioned he was tired of being an Auror.

They were having Christmas dinner together (with the whole family of course) when Harry sighed rather loudly. "I don't know why I took this job in the first place. All it does is wear me down."

"Maybe you should take a break then. It would do you some good to have a vacation. Then you could finally come to some of my matches", said Ginny with a smirk. It was always unnerving how similar she looked to Uncle George when she did that.

"True," Harry said smiling. "Maybe I could take up a teaching job at Hogwarts," he said laughing.

"No, dad don't do that. It'll be weird seeing my dad teach me," James complained.

"Oh? Maybe I'll do that just to annoy you." Apparently Harry has also mastered the 'Weasley Smirk'.

Laughter filled the room and Teddy was secretly hoping Harry was serious about the teaching job.

First day of fourth year, there was a lot of whispering in The Great Hall when Teddy arrived. He just assumed there was a new Dumbledore's Army's kid that was among the first years (he couldn't really remember though, might have to ask Victoire).

When he finally sat down at the Hufflepuff table, he looked up to the front and saw why everyone seemed so excited. There, in all his glory, was Harry James Potter, sitting between Hagrid and Professor Longbottom, and seemed to be catching up. He seemed less like the caring, funny godfather Teddy grew up with and a little more like The Boy Who Lived here in Hogwarts. Where he learned magic, made friends, fell in love, and what everyone seemed to care the most, where he defeated Voldemort. Teddy forgot himself for a moment and awed at the man who vanquished Voldemort, despite him seeing Harry a few hours prior when he saw him off at King's Cross. (Now that he thought about it, how did Harry get here before he did?)

Now, as Teddy was sitting among his friends, he could finally see how everyone thought as Harry as some kid of legend. Teddy had always just referred to Harry as his godfather whenever his friends asked him about The Boy Who Lived. "He's just Harry", Teddy would say.

The girls around him were positively bubbling with excitement. "Oh my Lord, I didn't realise how hot he is in person. The pictures don't do him justice." Teddy had to agree. Harry was rather good-looking, so it was really no wonder the girls would be starstruck. Between him and Professor Longbottom, the girls would be rushing to their classes.

Before he knew it, the first years have already been sorted and Professor McGonagall was already up on the podium. "I'll cut to the chase then. Now as many of you have noticed, Mr Potter has decided to join us here at Hogwarts and serve as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. As a previous respectable Auror, I hope you all can learn a great deal from him." Professor McGonagall might have seemed aloof but Teddy could definitely see the twinkle in her eyes. She was obviously very pleased with the decision that Harry made.

Everyone was whooping and cheering, a lot of "I love you's" and "Marry me's" could be heard. Harry smiled politely but when he caught Teddy's broad smile, his hair turning the brightest shade of blue possible, Harry beamed.

Teddy realised he couldn't wait for DADA classes this year. Because this year, his father was there, finally doing the job he loved the most. He was really good at it too. And Teddy couldn't be happier for him.
