This is dedicated to my boyfriend of three years. I love you, Bunch!!! Yes, my pet name for him is Bunch. Got a problem with that? Also if you don't like this, don't review. I'm not writing this to please people. As I said before, I'm writing this for Bunch.
'Stupid law,' She thought as she glanced out of the window staring at the ocean beneath the plane. 'It's just not fair.'
Sighing she pulled out a book that was the only keepsake from the wizardry world. It was a small diary given to her by the man she loved. She hadn't opened it yet, because the reminders it brought to her of how far away she was from home was still fresh in her mind. She felt as if something was squeezing her heart just looking at it, and she was afraid that if she opened it she might have a heart attack.
Taking a deep breath she glanced out of the window again. Still unbelieving that she was kicked out of the world that she loved so much, for a reason as stupid as her heritage. If she had only been a pure-blood, she would have been able to hold a job if she weren't married. As it was, she was not. Sure, one might think that she could marry...she is in love after all...yet the ministry took care of that too. They passed a second law stating that you could not marry someone over twice your age. Bummer for her, she just turned 23 and in a month he will be 48, which meant that they could not be together for three years.
She hugged the diary to her as hot tears escaped from her eyes. She would wait those three years. She would be alone without a family, but she would wait and she would hope. Perhaps the law wouldn't last.
Clinging to that hope, she opened the diary and took out a charmed ball point pen.
September 25,
I miss him. I haven't been gone seven hours and I miss him as if it had been seven months.
She sat back to think of something else to write, when her words just disappeared from the page.
"What the?' She thought, and was ready to write again when words began to form before her eyes.
I know, I miss you too.
Letting out a sob of happiness when she recognized his eloquent handwriting she quickly wrote back a reply.
Severus, you think of everything don't you?
As always
A small laugh escaped her at his comment. Stunned at how foreign the sound seemed to her ears, she realized that maybe she wasn't going to be so lonely after all. But she was still going to hold to her hope that they would be together soon. Perhaps, this time, it would be forever.
