They raced laughing, the rain poring down unto their heads. Laughing smiling without a care in the world. The two boys made their way to an abandon cabin, drenching. Kyle looked up at Lucas, he was panting from the intense jog, holding himself up by his knees. Kyle was younger but he knew, he knew what they found would be held tight. He wasn't naïve in this. Lucas looked around, the rain pattering on the old dusted windows. Not even the rain could was such decay away.

"Do you think," said Kyle panting "that maybe we lost them?" Lucas only smiled back at him, returning his gaze elsewhere.

Kyle stood, giving an inquisitive look. Lucas often didn't talk. Letting his actions speak louder than his words. Kyle wandered over to him, places his head on his shoulder; Lucas' back to him. He found what Lucas was staring at. An old locket. It had some age to it, but you could still make out the intracit lily pattern on it. Lucas traced his finger on the small golden heart, he turned himself to Kyle, holding the locket by it's chain. Lucas began to carefully clean the tiny jewelry with his shirt.

"Here." Lucas said.

He opened the clasp each end in one hand. His fingers made there way around Kyle's neck; hooking the locket in place. Kyle stared down at it. Taking it in his hand and looking up at Lucas. He smiled, his eyes beaming. Lucas took Kyle's hands in his, taking a deep breath, Lucas finally said, breaking the silence, "Happy Birthday". He smiled sweetly down at Kyle.
