Chapter 1: His Return, Her Departure

Prologue

Chu Ga Eul

Chu Ga Eul took one last look at Seoul, savoring the moment, trying to memorize the scene before her. The bright city lights, the busy noise of the crowd and the people passing by. Tears creeping out of her eyes as she slowly pulled her luggage, she was hesitant to leave, she badly wanted to stay but fate won't let her. She has to leave Seoul; she has to leave the people she loves behind her. It breaks her heart knowing that she has to leave without anyone knowing, saying goodbye to no one; not her parents nor Jan Di her best friend, the one she confided in whenever she had troubles, not a soul knew she left, no one knows why either. How badly she fought, tried to find reasons to stay, but none of them were enough.

She hoped she'd comeback soon, she hoped everything will be fine and everyone will be happy, she prayed no one would look for her, which is unlikely. She was friends with the F4 and Jan Di, she knew they will try to look for her, especially him; making it so much harder for her to leave. She was not only leaving her friends, her family, her life but she would also leave the chance of seeing him, being with him, loving him. She would be leaving her heart behind. She remembered his promise that he'll comeback for her, she remembered every single moment of it, she promised she would wait; she would stay and wait for him. She wiped away one last tear that escaped her eyes, as she fought back the urge to turn back, "I'm so sorry Yi Jeong, I'm breaking my promise" she whispered to herself as she finally had the courage to board the plane. She was going to begin a new life, a new beginning, she was going to Japan to try to pursue her dreams and become someone special to the world, she was now leaving her past and hoping for a brighter future, which she is certain that is not. Small sobs escaped her lips as she saw Seoul slowly drift away.

So Yi Jeong

So Yi Jeong made a smile, finally seeing Seoul in front of his eyes was relief, he was finally coming home. He was very excited to see his friends, seeing his family and especially seeing her. Finally he would be able to breathe again; he would see and be able to touch her, hold her and kiss her. He would finally fulfill his promise of coming back to her. She would be the first person he would see, instead of telling his friends of his arrival he had decided to surprise them. He was anxious and nervous to see her again after a long time but his excitement covered it. A few more minutes, just a few more and he'll finally see the angelic face again, no longer from pictures but for real, it would finally be her not knowing that the face he anxiously wanted to see had already left the streets of Seoul, heck she left the country, leaving nothing behind, no letter, no goodbye, no email or text, no warning even, that she had left; leaving no trace behind.

Once his plane landed and he was officially in soil of Korea he immediately took out his luggage and rushed out. Men wearing black suits surrounded the area, typical; being the only heir of their family, one of the bodyguards took the luggage from him and escorted him to his car.

A black Mercedes was parked in front of him, "what no welcome home gift?" he commented as he gave a smirk to one of the guards who had opened the door for him. He entered the backseat of the car and instructed the driver to first bring him to the kindergarten where he was informed that Ga Eul was working in before going to the mansion.

He was hesitant to call her, he was eager to see her but he wanted to surprise her, so calling would kind of ruin it, so he decided not to. Minutes passed by as and the school was getting close to his vision. The school wasn't big or grand but it was beautiful, it was simple with its pastel painted walls, a small playground and a sign indicating it was a kindergarten. The car finally parked, the bodyguard rushing to open the door for him, he smiled as he saw the view, Ga Eul is perfect here, and he knew she belonged in this school, the colors, the scenery, the atmosphere described her perfectly. He entered the school, observing the details, the walls plastered with arts and crafts made by kids, he chuckled when he saw Chu Ga Eul's name above the paintings of at least 20 kids indicating that it was her class. He was not aware of his surroundings when he turned and bumped into one of the teachers.

She blushed as she saw his face and immediately bowed "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump you!"

"Its fine" he assured her, making his famous trade mark smirk; making her blush a little more, he apparently still had that effect on women; it never really went away. He was reminded of his purpose coming here, he beamed a smile "uhmm, do you by any chance know a Chu Ga Eul? I was informed she worked here,"

The lady made a frown and shook her head. "Yes, she did work here but she resigned just a few hours ago" the lady informed him as she excused herself and left. 'Resign? Why would Ga Eul-yang resign?' he thought. A frown was formed replacing the beaming smile he had, how could he find her now? The address he knew was gone and she no longer worked at the porridge shop, so he had no clue where he would find her.

He fished out his phone and looked through his contacts, hoping that she still used the same number, he pressed dial and it immediately disconnected. His curiosity grew, 'where are you?' he thought to himself as he scanned through, stumbling upon to one number he hoped knew the answer to his question. Geum Jan Di. Her best friend! He smirked, if someone knew where his girl was it was her best friend, he dialed her number anxiously waiting, Yi Jeong paced back and forth, mumbling to himself "pick up pick up pickup!" it was taking so long, and he badly wants to see her. 'Ah! Geum Jan Di why won't you answer!" he glared at his phone hoping for a response.

After dialing three times she finally answered, with a sigh of relief he pressed his phone to his ear and greeted his best friend's girlfriend a hello. "Hello this is Jan Di, May I ask who this is?" her voice was sweet and polite, making Yi Jeong remember the times they had with this girl. Strong and determined but also fragile and delicate, just like her best friend. "It's Yi Jeong." He heard a scream or more like a squeal coming from the background which he assumed would be Gu Jun Pyo eavesdropping, same old Jun Pyo, same old Jan Di, hearing her yell at him to shut up and stop complaining as to why Yi Jeong called her and not him.

"Yi Jeong is it really you? I haven't heard from you for a while, how's Sweden?"

"It was fine, not as fun as being with you guys" he chuckled, "I called to ask you a question." He went straight to the point, wanting to see her again, was above catching up with his friends. "Sure, is everything okay?" concern was heard from her voice.

"Yeah everything is good, I just wanted to ask if (he scratched the back of his head, contemplating on whether to ask her or just look for her himself.)

"Yi Jeong what is it?" Jan Di said, interrupting his train of thought.

"I just wondered if you knew where Ga Eul is?"

"Ga Eul? No I'm sorry I don't know where she is, but I'll try to call her and tell her that you called"

Yi Jeong hesitated for awhile, wondering where his angel is but eventually agreed. "Sure, thanks Jan Di! See you later!" he said and immediately hanged up the phone before she could continue her sentence, asking him what he meant by seeing her later.

Yi Jeong went back to his car and decided to take a rest before looking for Ga Eul, jet lag finally overcoming him, taking a deep breath he closed his eyes, whispering her name before falling asleep.

Will he find her?
