Seriously Switching

Harry and James are at a stand off in the Potter household. They are both fed up with each other and James has some explaining to do.

Harry: Son what is this issue you have been having at school?

James: Can you leave me alone? I am tired of always having to live up to the Potter name.

Harry: Why haven't you told me you felt this way?

James: Because you would never understand. You are the big hero that saved everyone from Voldemort. You have no idea what I go through at school. And if you paid any attention to me you would know that I have been hanging out with the Slytherin house.

Harry: You can hangout with whomever you want… There is nothing wrong with being friends with other houses.

James: No Father you don't understand. I have been thinking a lot about blood purity and all the best wizards at school are pure bloods. The worst part about it is that I can be just as good of a wizard, but they under estimate me. I can never live up to what you have already achieved at Hogwarts.

Harry: I never knew you felt that way about my past. But blood purity does not have anything to do with your strength and power as a wizard and no one should be telling you any differently.

James: I have been thinking a lot about Sirius as well. He defied against his family to get rid of the blood purity in his family. I want to be like him and defy against my families ideals.

Harry: Sirius stood up for equality throughout the Wizarding worlds. He did not just go against his family because he was angry with him he had a moral conflict between them.

James: I'm done with having to live up to the great, brave, and humble Potter name. I am done with being a part of the Gryffindor house. When I was sorted into Gryffindor I didn't know what it was going to be like at Hogwarts always having to be the example to make a potion or always be the first one to try a new spell. It is overwhelming. I will never be as good as the pure bloods are. I don't know what about them makes them such incredible wizards but I want what they have. I don't have the skill you do father, and I can't just go through my years at Hogwarts living below your shadow.

Harry: What are you telling me James?

James: I am switching houses. I no longer believe that I should be in Gryffindor.

Harry: James, You cant just switch houses you were put in Gryffindor for a reason. The sorting hat knows more about yourself then you will ever know.

James: If I can't switch houses then I'm going to throw the house tournament for Gryffindor. They do not deserve to win. I will make sure that they do not.

Harry: What is going on with you. This is absolutely ridiculous of you to even consider.

James: I don't care. You can't stop me.

Harry: I am absolutely appalled by your behavior. Lets make a deal. If school is really that bad how about we take you out of school and put you into the real world. You can't use any magic. You would need to solve your problems using your knowledge and wit. Then if you come back and still feel as ungrateful as you do now then we will talk about finding a way to switch houses.

James: Living with the mortals would be simple I could do it in a heartbeat. You're on.
