Edward Elric could feel some guy's eyes staring at him. Of course he could actually feel it, but he know someone was looking at him. He took another drink from his bottle of beer, his usual dark-drafted one, and turned around. Because the the bar's lack of working lights in most places, he couldn't see anyone looking at him. Either that, or they turned away. As he turned around back to his drink, be heard somebody getting up. Instinctively, he turned back around and saw some midget, smaller than him, staring at him. "What the hell do you want?" Edward asked the silhouette figure he still couldn't identify.
"Your drink." He asked, clearly just trying to piss him off.
"Suure. Like I'd give it to you. Its the last one. Guess you should've came earlier. You know it's way past your bedtime, midget." He said, taking pride in the fact that he was at least a foot taller than this guy.
"Y'know, I don't like your additude." He said, stepping into the brightness of the only fixed light in the bar.
"Then why don't you leave?" Edward asked, not facing him.
"Bet you 5 bucks and that beer you couldn't beat me in a fight."(1)
Edward got up and looked at him. He appeared to be fairly strong, but Edward still had the size and probable speed advantage. "Alright, why don't you take the first swing?"
The guy still had his hands down. "Not an actual fight. A rap battle." He said.
Ed looked surprised for a second. Then he smirked evily. He could rap. "You first, then." The smaller of the two, not Edward, reacher for a disk that he had in his backpack and threw it at the bartender who put it in after failing to catch it properly at first.
"I prayed for my enemies, I told the lord to bless the both of us
Papa threw the deuces, but fuck it, I never hold grudges
My worst fear is to die broke
Life in the jungle I'll rip the horns off a rhino
Music always been a part of us, mama was never hard on us
I was always worried when she had to ride the MARTA bus
Started drinking young, cause them Koreans never carded us
Young and black, but they didn't give a fuck and it was obvious
Lifestyle of a dope boy is simply captivating
To niggas turning Master Splinter on the affidavit
I'm jewish with the bread, every dollar's calculated
These niggas sideways, this nine'll get them calibrated"(2)
The bartender took out the CD, seeing that he was done. Edward's turn.
"You don't really wanna roam in the darkness
You ain't ready for the pain and the harshness
I'm zoning up to hop outside of my ride, at full speed, then swerve till the car flips
You dealin' with a maniac
See I know a couple of ways to scrap
I'mma raise the axe
Throw it at you while you're running away and when it hits, your brains will splat
So just face the facts
I'm a result of all the gangsta rap
I say shit, never take it back
I don't hate to brag
A true menace with a love of blood
You'll never get rid of my ways
Whatchu think of that, huh?" (3)
The other guy seemed scared, considering he saw the pocket knife that Edward always carried when he went to places like this, and decided to bail. Didn't work, because Ed grabbed his shirt and took out his wallet. "I think you're forgetting your wager. Pay up." He said. Of course, the midget did as he was told and then left. By then, everyone was looking at Edward, who just noticed. "Who's next?" He said, sitting back down and finishing off his beer.
