Author's Note
...Well, it's been awhile, hasn't it?
Delta: It's been more than awhile, but we're back so...Hi.
So, you guys might have noticed something...A couple stories missing. And that's because...We want to reboot them. To put this in the simplest way possible, we have NOT enjoyed Fuzzy Memories for a long time.
Delta: It doesn't mean we disliked the cast in Fuzzy Memories, we love those dudes like...A lot. That probably explains why we're here, in the abyss of darkness...Yeah, we're totally bringing them back if it wasn't obvious.
BASICALLY, FMTDA, while I do think we did it well...It wasn't fun to write, the tone was a mess, and to be perfectly honest...Action sucks ass. Like seriously, Action is my third least favorite season of the series, only topping All-Stars and World Tour, and even then only barely on the latter. It's a very limited season in terms of where interactions can happen and what happens every episode. With Island, while we repeated plots, we also had a lot of room to improvise and experiment(like the idol turning out to be ACTUALLY lucky, but unlucky when destroyed). With Action...Not so much.
Delta: Yeah, so we're not doing that again, but instead we're doing something...Different!
Yep, and while we'll get there eventually...We decided to give you guys a little something to sort of...Ease you into this a bit. Consider it a prologue to this reboot.
Delta: So, sit back, grab some kettle corn, and enjoy the chapter.
...I hate kettle corn...So much...
The camera panned over to the dock, a familiar Glaceon was currently applying her makeup, before looking up at the camera, as she smiled, "And there you have it. After the weeks of tough challenges...We say goodbye to our twenty-four contestants…" She blinked when she suddenly felt a small tear roll down her cheek, before gently wiping it, "...Oh dear, it seems I'm getting a little emotional over here...I'm actually going to miss these kids."
Soon after she said this, her co-host turned to her, before shrugging, "Eh...I kinda will, but on the same level, rarely talked to them."
The Glaceon let out a small chuckle, before glancing down, "Even if they were brats, I kind of grew a connection to them...Mostly Gareth, but I'll be seeing him everyday. But seriously, I think this dump actually made me...Happy."
He stared at her, before smiling, "Oddly enough...I kind of agree."
She gave him a small smile of her own, "Plus if it wasn't for this place, then who knows if I would have confessed my feelings to you...Oh dear, I might have been stuck with...A s-s-slob…"
Logan shivered at this thought, before smiling, "Anyways, we should probably finish this up, huh?"
Amber slowly nodded, before turning back to the camera, "Thank you kind viewers for watching us through this incredible journey, and don't forget to spread the word about this show. Have a very good day...And goodbye."
6-YEARS LATER
"And that's a wrap!"
A bell rang off in the background of a busy set, as a flurry of actors rushed off it. As the multitude of actors conversed among themselves and the staff began to pack up the equipment, a familiar Glaceon began to step off it herself. A few stress lines had formed underneath her eyes and she had a couple wrinkles now, but she otherwise still looked basically flawless for her age, and her smile still shined as much as it used to.
Snapping her paws, a cup of coffee was quickly handed to her. As she took a sip, she asked the man next to her, "Logan, when's filming for that dancing with...Uh...Whatever, show."
Scanning through his phone, a Leafeon, who similarly seemed older when he was last seen, with the exception of a pair of shining black sunglasses, muttered out, "Won't be for...Huh..." She rose a brow at this, as he continued with, "Yeah, Katie apparently got pregnant...From a teenager. They're pushing back the filming until the scandal goes by. Might even recast."
Taking another sip of her drink, she pinched the bridge of her nose while growling out, "Of course she manages to screw something up." Placing the cup down, she grumbled, "What am I supposed to do until then?"
As the two walked off the set and onto the busy film lott, the man pushed the glasses up slightly, "Well, we could always do one of those...Rejected offers."
Shuddering slightly, she gave him a look, "They were rejected for a reason, Logan."
Shrugging at this, he lowered his phone and turned to her, "Then that means you're off work for...The next couple months probably. I'll keep you posted though."
Nodding from his words, she took another drink while saying, "Thank you…"
Lounging in a chair next to a large chair, Amber Chanel-Armani, the American beauty queen...Was doing absolutely nothing right now, and that made her angrier than anything else she could possibly fathom. For the past few years, this is the first time she hadn't...Well, had something to 's been on TV-shows, starred in movies, been on a few talk shows, did that album(she doesn't like to talk about it), and...Hosted game shows…
Flinching to herself, she put on a pair of sunglasses as she stared up at the sky, as she took a sip of the margarita in her hand. Soon after, the Leafeon nearby glanced at her, asking, "You okay?"
Breathing in for a moment, she shuffled in her seat as she groaned out, "I'm not used to...This."
Giving her a look, he smirked to himself, "You mean...Relaxing?" He couldn't help but chuckle upon hearing another groan from her, "I get it's been awhile, but it's not like it's a foreign concept to you."
Rolling her eyes, Amber muttered, "I'm fine with relaxing, I'm just not used to having so much time for it. Did you manage to find anything I can work with?" Upon seeing him shake his head, she let out another groan, "I don't know how I'm going to survive this."
Giving his wife a look for a moment, he got up from his seat while flashing her a smile, "How about I whip us up some drinks? I know you haven't had a Seven and Seven for awhile."
Managing a small smile, she nodded, "That sounds nice." As he walked away, she leaned into her seat with a low sigh.
As she did so, he walked up to the mini-bar nearby and quickly began mixing a few drinks. As he was doing so, the phone nearby began to ring, as he quickly picked it up and held it against his ear with his shoulder, "Logan speaking."
"Yo, Logan...Sup?"
He froze at this, dropping the glass of liquor in his hand, causing Amber to look up from her seat, "Is everything alright, Logan?" Logan continued to seemingly stare forward in a daze, as he moved his paw to the phone and pressed it against his head. As he nodded to a few things, she began to grow worried, "Who are you talking to?"
After a moment, he muttered out, "Um...Thank you, we'll be there soon...Yes, thank you." Placing the phone down, he put a hand to his head in shock, as he turned back to Amber, "...So...Remember when you asked if I found anything?"
Giving him a confused look, her eyes quickly lit up at this.
Walking through a hallway, Amber looked over herself through the small, compact mirror with a hum, "How do I look?" Glancing over at the Leafeon beside her, she noticed the look he was giving her, as she groaned, "I need to know if I look my best, especially if this is the only opportunity I may get, I need to make sure everything goes smoothly."
Raising a brow, he stated, "Amber, you get an 'opportunity' every other day-"
Swiftly turning towards him, she growled, "A decent opportunity, Logan." Looking forward, she muttered, "Now, where exactly is this person's office?"
Looking down at his phone, he followed up with, "Down this hall, second door to our left," she began to quicken her pace, as he continued with, "But uh, fair warning, you're gonna get caught a little off guard-"
As he was saying this, she placed her paw on the door's handle, pushing it open while raising a brow from his words, "Logan, I can handle anything that..." Her words faltered upon seeing the figure in front of her, as her eyes widened at the sight...Before instantly narrowing into a deadpan scowl, "...Are you being serious?"
Placing his feet on the desk in front of him, a large green reptile with a rough outer shell smirked at her, letting out a puff of smoke from his cigar. A dark brown business suit ripped and stretched against him, as a single small fan rotated and blew throughout the room...It was…
"Tyson!" Marching up to the desk, the Glaceon stared at the familiar Tyranitar in disbelief, "What are you doing here? W-Why are you wearing a suit?" She reached forward and grabbed him from behind the desk, pulling him onto it as she glared at him, "Where's the producer?!"
"He is the producer." She paled at this, looking back towards the door to see Logan staring at her, before mumbling, "...Surprise."
Looking between the two, Amber slowly released her hold on the larger man while backing away, "You're telling me...Tyson is…"
The Tyranitar spoke up, "Rich?" She simply stared on, while slowly nodding, as he let out a laugh, "Yeah, turns out my invention of the waffle baker was a hit, and I got a large sum of money out of it. I decided I'd use it to become a successful producer." Giving him a look, he tried to keep the forced smile on his face...Before letting out a harsh breath, "Fine, I got a pretty big inheritance from some uncle of mine that just passed away recently. I don't really remember the guy, but hey I got money from him so he must have been pretty cool."
Pinching the bridge of her nose, the ice-fox let out a low breath, "...And in your infinite wisdom...You decided to become a producer?" The armored lizard nodded in response, as she slowly turned towards her husband, "...Logan, please tell me this is just an elaborate joke you put together specifically to waste my time."
Sitting up from his seat, Tyson gave her a look, "Hey, I am more than capable of producing a show!" As he said this, the two took their seats in front of him, "Trust me, you're going to like this." As they stared him down, he continued with, "So...I want to make a show, that you two will be the stars of-"
Logan interrupted with, "I'm retired from acting, Ty. Haven't even been on-screen outside of interviews in the last three-years."
The man spent a few seconds giving the Leafeon an annoyed look, before continuing with, "...That Amber will be the star of...In fact, you could say it's a reboot of something we all used to be a part of." Pausing for a moment, he leaned closer towards them while saying, "...Total...Drama."
The Glaceon's eyes widened at the familiar word...Only for her eyes to quickly be filled with rage, "No."
Recoiling back in shock, he asked, "What do you mean no? That show kickstarted your entire career!"
Giving him a look, she quickly said, "Yes, it helped with mine and Logan's careers, but it's been six years, Tyson. The show ended, it did good, but not great. That's it, it's done."
Frowning from her words, he muttered, "Then we can make this one great. Like you said, it's been six years, we can get those kids to compete again...Like a reunion of sorts! That'll make the fans crazy, to see those kids again after so long."
She scowled at this, but before she could say anything, Logan spoke up, "Tyson...Why do you even care?" The rock-type turned towards him at this, "You hated the show. You were always complaining about the kids not eating your food, or making fun of you, or...Well, attacking you for being a jerk, though that was mostly Tempest."
The Tyranitar twitched to himself, as he put his hands together, "...That's why I want this to happen." The couple shared a confused glance with each other, as he grumbled out, "Those little brats made my life Hell for two months...And now, it's payback time. They deserve to pay!" The two foxes were silent for a few seconds, before he continued, "...And I'll pay you two."
Giving him a skeptical look, Amber slowly muttered, "You want me to host this show...Just to have some sort of petty revenge for things that happened years ago…" Rubbing the side of her head, she breathed out, "Do you realize how utterly childish that sounds? Besides, there's no guarantee that those former contestants would even agree to be on this show. In fact, if I remember correctly a good portion of them hated the last one."
Tyson didn't seem particularly interested in what she was saying though, as he continued, "...Who cares? And besides, Amber," he began to smirk, "If you two don't agree to work on this...I'll just get somebody else to, and unlike you two...They probably won't have a soft spot for a bunch of has-beens."
Narrowing her eyes at him, she bit her lip in thought for a moment, only to slouch back with a reluctant groan, "...Fine. You win, Tyson. I'll do it."
Logan couldn't help but flinch at this, but before he could speak, Tyson spoke up, "Excellent! Now, with that said…" Turning his chair away from them, he spoke up, "You two are in charge of finding them, because they have gone completely off the grid!"
Upon hearing this, Amber was about to speak up, only for Logan to say, "Got it...Thank you, Tyson." And before anything could happen, he grabbed onto her arm and pulled her out of the room. Immediately upon exiting it and closing the door though, he turned to her, "...Why'd you accept his offer. You hated that show."
Shaking slightly, she glanced off to the side with a sigh, "Because, while I despise that show with a passion...I can't deny that a lot of good things came from it, and those kids weren't so bad." Turning towards him, she rose a brow at the small smile he was giving her, "...Stop it."
Chuckling to himself, he said, "You had a soft spot for them. It's cute."
Rolling her eyes, she began to walk ahead of him while grumbling, "Come on, we have some work to do now."
As the sound of retreating footsteps echoed from outside his office, Tyson slowly placed his hand on the landline in front of him, placing the phone to his ear while punching in a few numbers. After a few rings, he spoke into it, "Hey, it's me."
"Got good news?"
Smirking to himself, he stated, "You're in."
And with that, the first chapter of the prologue is complete, and I'm just gonna guess that...You guys probably weren't expecting a six-year timeskip.
Delta: I wasn't even expecting it...Wait that's kind of a lie...Anyways, everyone is so old now!
Well, older more accurately. But yeah, it's quite a bit into the future, and as was confirmed here, Total Drama was canceled after just one season, less due to low ratings, and more so for the show constantly going over budget, and thus, we get to see how everyone's lives went after the series completed. And now, I'm gonna explain why we decided to do this stuff with these characters.
Amber and Logan: Obviously just because the show failed doesn't mean their careers did. Instead, Amber went on to be a massively successful celebrity, starring in and becoming a huge part of a multitude of shows, movies, and more, and never looked back. Logan on the other hand ultimately retired from the acting business, preferring being her manager. This is mostly just because we felt like this just seems like a natural path for them. They were talented individuals, so obviously their careers wouldn't just disappear the second the show did. However, due to a lack of other things to do, they're now back on the wild ride known as Total Drama...Wonder how that'll go for them.
Tyson: Yeah...This is a massive change compared to the original plans for the guy. As many expected, the original version of the second season was giving this guy a redemption plot...However, ultimately that didn't really work in my eyes, or more accurately the execution. And after this kind of timeskip, he wouldn't go through the same development, instead staying his relatively childish self and still wanting revenge on the cast who abused him throughout the first season. So now, using his vast sum of money, he's more or less producing a revenge plot. Hope you all will enjoy this version of him, as he'll be quite important for awhile now. But the question is...Who'll be the chef now?
Delta: As long as it's not frozen waffles, it'll certainly be an improvement.
Anyways, this ain't the only chapter of the prologue though...So look out! We'll be releasing one of these every day, baby! ...Maybe. Don't hold us on that.
Next Chapter: Looking for some way to contact the contestants, they go to the one source they have left...
