The piano room was dimly lit, the cold moonlight streaming in through the large window. The drapes hung lazily held by thinner velevt material, and gold lacing. The only other source of color in the room was Alucard. His crimson duster was like a drop of blood amongst the silvery pool bathing the room. Integra stood at the doorway, light was bouncing off of her round spectacles, while her somber eyes hid behind them.
Before Alucard was a beautiful piano. The smooth wood was as bright and enchanting as when she first saw it when she was a child. However she had not played in years, she and her father would play when she was small, but she felt different when he died. Integra was brought back to reality when she saw Alucards crimson eyes, upon her. Startled she said in a cold voice.
"What are you smirking at?"
Alucard released a small chuckle, his hyena grin was tempting to smack thought Integra. He bowed his ebony head and his eyes became shadows, he said to her in an almost sincere voice,
"I just wondered how long you were going to stand there, master. Would you come and sit?"
Integra made no move towards him, she just bored into him with her icicle gaze. Nodding Alucard returned to the piano, gently caressing the keys he took a deep breath and began. The deep notes and his elegant hands flowed perfectly, the music rippled through the room Alucards hands intertwining with the heavier notes, giving the music a dark and tainted undertone. Integra recognised the song as the one she and her father played, but Alucards sounded more like a lament. Not the one she played. Walking over to him she said furiously.
"Alucard how do you know that?"
Alucard's mouth curled into a smile, Integra frowned. He said playfully.
"You know, you should'nt interrupt a pianoist while he plays. It's just good manners. Master."
Hearing the edge in his voice Integra sat down next to the crimson clad vampire. Alucard looked down at the blonde woman, winking he continued his lament. Integra watched as his delicate fingers moved along the keys, she marvelled at how his timing and beat were perfect. He has had long enough to practice, she thought bitterly. Alucard moved his left hand over and stopped playing the lighter notes, he motioned to Integra she looked at the ivory white keys and touching the smoothness of it she yerned to play. Alucard smiled down at her. She looked up and gave him a confident smirk. She tapped one of the keys experimentally before playing in sync with Alucard. Her song was of lighter happier gesture, Alucard returned to his lamenting sorrow etched over the many decades he had lived, Integra, for those short years she was happy when she was a child.
The music flowed through the room. At first two seperate entities, before both stories merged together. When the music had eventually faded and they both sat alone in their own thoughts. The moonlight passed over the two, Alucard looked at Integra, she kept her head facing a different way, Alucard's grin was gone, his face was serious he said to his liege.
"Then this is what you believers call fate."
Integra turned her head sharply, she eyed the ancient vampire with distaste.
"Not with you my fate lies no!"
Alucard's face broke into a smile, he said to her simply.
"Then. It has been the perfect night."
Standing to unveil his true height, he went to Integra and kneeled he took her gloved hand in his own, he said.
"Goodnight miss Hellsing."
Kissing her hand softly he swept out of the room. He paused at the door when he heard Integra's small voice.
"Sir."
Alucard's smile broadened.
"Sir then."
With that he left, leaving Integra to her thoughts.
