A.N.: Please note that the plot in this story takes place in an alternative timeline, but it will still have its heroes and villains colliding against each other in an exciting adventure, as well as some particular elements from the actual games and their storyline. Also note that this is the very first time I write a Star Fox fanfic, so I'm sorry if I make the characters a bit OOC, or if the story overall sucks.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything except for my newest OC. So grab your popcorn, Doritos, Oreos, or any good munchies or snacks that you may have near you, sit back, and enjoy reading! :D
Planet Venom...
Five slim fingers tapped on an armrest sharply and slowly, breaking the current of silence sinisterly. The noise was then followed by a growl, one growl so low yet deadly it would scare its enemies away.
"Starfox." The evil Andross mutters. "Those pitiful pests. They have angered me ENOUGH!"
"Uncle Andross!" A rushed Andrew Oikonny came to the simian's throne and bowed before him. "Great Emperor, I've got flashing news!"
"Step aside, Oikonny. Let me do the talking." Another figure stepped in and kneeled before the simian emperor.
"Speak, Wolf." Andross commanded.
The snow monkey beside Wolf gave him a stare from the corner of his eye briefly. He stood kneeling before Andross, his eyes narrowed down to the floor.
"Emperor Andross, a dimensional breach will soon take place near the outskirts of Corneria City, and my team is ready to deploy an ambush when it happens."
"A dimensional breach?" Andross repeats. "Hmm... interesting. Send out our troops. Find out what this breach is all about. And... be sure to do it before those scums within Starfox step in our way."
"Just you watch, my emperor. I shall not let Star Wolf, or this empire, be led astray. You have my word."
"Off you go, then." He dispatched Wolf. Andrew followed him, but was stopped by his uncle. "And Andrew..." Andross points at him as he stopped. "Do not disappoint me."
He seemed excited to follow his uncle's orders. "I won't, my emperor! Anyone who messes with you, messes with ME!" He soon left, following Wolf.
Andross sat back, thinking with still a low growl.
"Dimensional breach, eh?" He grinned. "Welcome to Lylat... stranger."
His cold, sinister laugh could be heard resonating in the dark.
The Great Fox...
The Great Fox stood in orbit around the vast Planet Corneria. Inside this mother ship, young inventor Slippy Toad had been working with a modern artifact as the rest of the Starfox crew wandered around.
"Agh! Really?!" Shouted the hotheaded Falco Lombardi after losing another spaceship game. He even retaliated by throwing his own retro joystick against the large flat screen like the last time.
"You're gonna' lose your mind if ya' keep playin' those silly games, boy!" Exclaimed a cranky Peppy Hare. "Now get up from there and clean this mess!" He groaned annoyed as he was cleaning the mess Falco did. The young avian got up without hesitation, though inside he felt utter botheration. He just wanted to sit back and resume playing endlessly.
Fox McCloud, the Starfox team leader, arrived to observe his fellow teammates. He sighed the moment he saw the mess they did, but then turned to Slippy.
"That looks new."
"Oh, this is indeed my newest invention. When deployed, these devices connect and form a blockade, capable of protecting all of our ships in a perimeter. Its force field should be able to deflect enemy attacks without causing damage."
"Interesting."
"And useless. Why would we block enemy ships when we can easily destroy them?" Said Falco, who watched Slippy do the work.
The toad dropped his tools. "Hey, I just thought I could make something useful. You saw what happened before. We nearly got fried!"
"That's what you said. You just got grazed is all. Both of ya' didn't deal with much damage."
The toad and avian continued a silly argument as Fox sat on a couch and sighed. Ultimately there was nothing to do. No reports, no missions. Corneria was at peace, and so was the rest of the Lylat system. But the young mercenaries eventually grew bored of doing nothing.
He sighed again. "Any reports?"
"Nope! Corneria's defenses are back online! I'm sure this time not even Andross will break through them." He then let out a sad sigh. "I only wish we had a chance to eat crab in that new water park!" As if on cue, his stomach growled. He sat back on a couch and sighed.
"Eventually, perhaps we will." Said Fox as he got up and walked to the frontal area of the room, watching the stars shimmer.
Before the worst part happened...
Girl's POV
Ah... I loved getting back home from that hideous workplace of mine and lounge with my cats! But what I loved the most was watching gameplay videos of Starfox every single night, daydreaming of how amazing they all are, and the adventures I wished I could live with them.
That night, after some food and chores, I laid back and watched the short film from Star Fox Zero. Man, was that amazing!
"Oh man, they're just so cool!" I said with tons of ecstasy as I watched.
The entire battle was epic itself, I mean, they were greatly skilled ace pilots! Nostalgia hit me in the face as I remembered the Star Fox games I used to play as a child.
Also, I felt a little bad for Slippy as he couldn't get the chance to eat his most desired crab in Corneria. I giggled slightly. "Poor Slippy. Maybe next time."
As soon as the short movie was over, I put the phone on my bedside table, and laid down. One of my cats, a tricolored cat, purred and meowed as she came at me and laid her fat body on my chest, staring at me with such cute eyes!
I yawned. "I wish... to live... a great adventure..." I dozed off into a deep sleep, not realizing that, seconds later, my phone was acting like crazy.
As I dozed off, I could swear I heard the sonic boom of a ship wooshing by my ears.
And in my dreams, I felt myself going faster than the speed of sound in a field of stars and beams, almost as if I went into hyperjump.
Back to the Great Fox...
ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!
The alarms blared, alerting the entire crew. Fox quickly stepped in to the main controls.
"ROB, report!"
A chair turned around, revealing a large yellow robot which sat there the entire time. "Urgent message from the General. Transmission is online."
Soon enough, the image of General Pepper of the Cornerian Army appeared on a screen on the ceiling.
"Starfox, do you read me?"
"General Pepper! What's happening?"
The group soon gathered in. "A dimensional breach has been detected near Corneria City, and an unidentified aircraft has been discovered. We need reinforcements to investigate this rare case!"
"A dimensional breach? That's impossible!" Exclaimed Slippy. "Nothing has ever entered the Lylat system before!"
"Whatcha' expect? Aliens?" Mocked Falco, which made Peppy raise a brow at that.
"Whatever this breach brought, it should be stopped before it becomes a threat to the Lylat system!" The General continued. "Starfox, I entrust this case entirely to you."
"Understood. Starfox, move out!"
"Right!" Everyone ran to the halls at Fox's command, heading right to the hangar of the mother ship.
"At least one more thing to bring us out of boredom." Commented Falco.
"I don't understand. Did Andross create a device to cause this dimensional breach?" Slippy asked.
"Andross has usage of teleportation devices, so it's highly possible! Although I get the feelin' it's something else." Said Peppy.
"I get that too! I mean, what if they're friendly? We could reason with them if they mean no harm." Slippy replied rather innocently.
"Still, the General may be right. A rare case like this should be solved before it threatens the Lylat system. We're going to find out what this breach brought, and stop it!"
"Right!"
Eventually, every single member of the team used a shortcut and landed on their respective Arwings, shutting the cockpits closed.
In an instant, all systems were online, and Fox put his visor on, which began setting up.
"Is everyone ready?" He called through his earpiece.
"Ready." Falco responded.
"Ready!" Said a cheerful Slippy.
"All good to go, Fox!" Said Peppy.
The ships' engines started their ignition, and began whirring.
"Let's rock and roll, boys!"
Soon, the four Arwings took off into space and into Corneria's atmosphere.
Later...
Girl's POV
What the heck?! I slept on my bed and woke in a ship?! I desperately looked around, and indeed this was all happening. I woke inside an airship. How I happen to find myself there was the question.
"What the...?! Where am I?!" I looked at my surroundings, and realized the ship was floating still. But then I took a moment to admire the ship's interior as well as the many buttons and watchamacallits it had.
"Whoa. Cool!" I pressed a button on the clutch to see what it could do, but that only made me shriek as the ship took off at high speed. I gripped the clutch tightly, avoiding major accidents on my way.
Third Person POV
Right at the nick of time, the Starfox team successfully made it to Corneria's surface, their airships whooshing over the vast oceans, leaving trails behind them.
"You guys see that? The aircraft is straight ahead!"
Peppy observed the forein airship straight ahead, and decided to follow it. The girl put both hands on the clutch and struggled against the weight of the ship to fly straight, but instead made it spin around, losing control over it.
"The ship is out of control!"
"Agh! Stop!" She yelled and pushed some buttons to help slow it down, but she greatly failed at her attempts to do so. She released a few things from the ship, like flare missiles and a parachute.
"Moving in!"
Fox sailed past the incoming flares, dodging them with little effort. He swiftly sailed past the foreign aircraft, which was heading right to the ocean.
Girl's POV
I pulled hard on the clutch to bring the ship up to level, and at least succeeded in not collapsing it right into the ocean, and wiped my sweat. "Oof!"
Suddenly, my hearing picked up the sounds of a transmission, altough this ship had no large screens to see the image of the transmitter. All it had was small screens displaying the ship's parts, a speed gauge and a radar.
"This is a transmission to the unidentified aircraft, state your mission immediately!"
I stuttered at that handsome male voice. "U-uh...!" "Could that be..."
"Which dimension are you from?!" The male voice asked once more.
Before I could respond, something started beeping rhythmically, but the beeps went louder every second. In the tiny radar screen, not one, not two, but DOZENS of red pellets blinked. And even more appeared!
"Oh my gosh..." I covered my lips in my palm.
Third Person POV
Up in the sky, a purplish portal opened up, allowing dozens of small battleships to enter Corneria's atmosphere.
The team's Arwings detected the horde of enemy ships on their radar. Slippy took notice of this and became worried as the little dots kept multiplying.
"Uh... guys? We've got enemy troops incoming!" Slippy warned. "They're too many!"
Fox checked his own radar as well. "Copy that. Get ready to rock, boys!"
The four Arwings split up, and shortly, a battle commenced.
"Bring it on!" Exclaimed Falco as he shot a few beams at multiple enemies. They all exploded upon impact.
"Fox, you've got incoming!" Peppy exclaimed through his earpiece, and in the nick of time, Fox used the brakes on his Arwing to shoot at three enemy ships.
"Gotcha!"
Suddenly, five more enemy ships surrounded Fox's Arwing in a perimeter, but the young pilot didn't show any type of fear. With a cocky grin, he moved in to the three ships in front of him, deflecting their laser fire with a barrel roll, and then firing straight shots at the three. Afterwards, he performed a summersault to shoot the other two which just flew past him, and shot them both at the same time.
"Great job, Fox! You're starting to become much more like your father." Peppy said.
Fox grinned. "Heheh."
"All of you! Eyes on the weird ship!" Falco nearly yelled.
The unidentified ship was now being crowded by dozens of the same enemy ships, and were just about to fire at it. The girl inside looked around in panic, not knowing what to do.
"It's under attack!"
"And they don't feel like stopping!"
"How's the gauge on that force field, Slip?"
"Still a bit slow. It just made it to 70 percent."
"Well, try to pick up the pace! We must save whoever's flying that ship!"
"Roger that!"
But before they could make a move, the girl drove the ship forwards at a considerably fast speed, yelling and panicking as she did so. The four Arwings followed her as she flew up into the sky. The enemy ships followed behind.
As she tried to maneouver with her ship, Fox and his team began shooting the enemy ships one by one without causing damage to the unidentified ship, but the more they shot, the more violent the remaining ones became. Some even had mechanical legs, and attached themselves to the ship, trying to bust the cockpit open.
"AAH!"
Fox growled at the sight of it all and fired at the machines, successfully launching them off the foreign ship. He flew beside it and looked at the pilot inside. Time stopped for a second before more enemy fire began raining down on both for a second. Both ships split up to avoid the enemy fire.
Another portal opened up, and four Wolfen ships entered Corneria's atmosphere. In said ships were Andrew Oikonny, Leon Powalski, Panther Caroso, and Wolf O'Donnell, leader of the Star Wolf team.
"Focus on the target. If any of those Starfox weaklings interfere, shoot them on sight." Wolf commanded.
"Star Wolf again, huh? Great." Commented Falco. "What's our next order, Fox?"
"That ship is our priority! Keep it away from Wolf and his gang!"
"Copy that, Fox!" Peppy responded, being the first to move in close to the foreign ship, but Andrew went in pursuit and fired at the foreign ship. The girl inside shrieked at the laser pellets.
"Oooh yeah! Uncle Andross is gonna' give us a great deal of cash once we're done with this!" He kept firing at the ship without hesitation, damaging one of the wings more.
Girl's POV
A warning appeared on a tiny screen, and images of the left wing were displayed, it was flashing green and red, and a blaring sound took over my hearing. The left wing was damaged.
"Oh no! I have to get down!"
"You're not layin' your hands on that aircraft, chimp!" The same country-like male voice said. I could hear it on the radios of the ship, and gasped.
"Is someone trying to protect me?" I thought.
Third Person POV
The brave Peppy turned his Arwing up to face Andrew's Wolfen, and calibrated the reticle, locking his target.
"Target locked!" He pushed a button on the clutch and took one shot at the enemy ship. He succeeded to damage one of the wings. It was too much that it began smoking and sizzling out.
"NO! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! AAAGH!" His Wolfen spun around crazily. It was not long before Powalski took over. He used an even powerful missile and locked his reticle on the foreign ship.
The girl gasped as soon as she spot the missile on the radar, and since she was diving down towards the ocean, she quickly gripped her clutch and rose her ship back up to the sky, causing the enemy missile to fall into the ocean, creating a huge explosion which rose some water up to the air. Said water blinded the chameleon and even made him crash on the otskirts of the island.
"Hm. You won't escape death this time, Starfox. My flower will rest under each of your graves!" Said Panther before he took a single shot.
...
Meanwhile, the force field gauge finally made it to 100 percent, activating the devices that were attached to each Arwing.
"Yes! The shield is ready to go, Fox!"
"Alright. All units, gather up and form a perimeter around the foreign ship!"
"We only have one shot, let's make it count!"
Everyone in the team heard his words loud and clear, and took positions around the foreign ship.
Falco took the left side. "I'm in!"
Peppy's Arwing was at the back. "Locked in position!"
Slippy took the right side while Fox was in front of the foreign ship.
"I'm in too! Deploying blockade in three... two... one... now!"
Girl's POV
I didn't even know if the ship I was in had any weapons, so I just tried to flee, but before I did, a sudden diamond-shaped blue shield covered me and four other ships that came out of nowhere and surrounded me. Four. Gray. And. Blue. Ships.
Arwings...
Time slowed down for me as I saw that one insignia I knew and loved on each ship, and gasped.
And then BOOM! I flinched as a large missile impacted the shield and exploded, but didn't do any harm to any of us inside the shield. The blue force field soon threw some kind of backfiring shot at the two enemy ships, then disappeared, but the ships still surrounded me.
Soon time normalized in my mind as the pilot on the ship to my left turned a gaze to me. "Follow us!" His tough voice commanded, and I drove the ship up once the shield disappeared, following the pilot, which was a blue avian.
Third Person POV
The shockwave emitted by the force field was strong enough to push Wolf's and Panther's ships back.
"You'll regret this, the lot of you!" He exclaimed.
"Yeah, yeah. Go cry somewhere else, big baby." Falco commented.
Fox soon noticed the foreign ship took even more damage. The wings were about to burn down, and they were throwing some smoke already.
"Let's wrap it up, boys! We need to help whoever's in that ship!"
"Roger that!"
All Arwings moved in to help the foreign ship land, Fox being the fastest among them. He took a closer look at the ship and analyzed the damage.
"Oh no. Can't let you do that, Fox..." Wolf grinned evilly and pursued Fox and the girl, taking aim at Fox's Arwing. He soon fired a heat missile.
The team leader was oblivious to notice, he was highly focused on helping the stranger land safely.
"Fox! You've got a missile coming in HOT!"
"Hot indeed! This missile detects heat signatures! It's coming after you!"
Girl's POV
I gasped as I noticed a missile coming towards the Arwing behind me through my ship's radar. With such a rush to help save whoever was in it, I thrusted the ship to the side to try to push the Arwing away from the missile. But that didn't budge much. So I used the button to shoot the flares in order to get the missile's attention to me. It did followed the flares but ended striking one of my ship's wings, completely destroying it.
"AHH!"
My ship, and myself, were sent down to the surface at high speed, leaving a trail of flames and smoke in the air. I tried to unbuckle myself, but it was too late as I crashed on the outskirts of the city, blacking out.
Third Person POV
"Argh! Next time, Fox, there will be no one to save you!" Wolf admitted his defeat, and he and his team retreated from the land, disappearing into the portal.
Fox saw the foreign ship crashing down and hurried down to help. He left his own Arwing and ran towards the foreign ship, which was smoking out.
"Fox! Is everything alright?!" Peppy asked in deep worry.
The young leader leaped up on it and used all his strength to open the ship's cockpit. Once he did, he observed carefully at the stranger inside.
The body of an average human girl with medium length brown hair in a pink pilot suit sat there, unconscious. There was some scratches and bleeding in her forehead and cheeks.
"Huh?"
Fox quickly climbed in and examined the girl. It wasn't his first time seeing human beings like her, but he wondered how one even arrived at Corneria. Without hesitation, he took his headgear off and pressed his left ear to her chest. His right ear made a slight twitch the moment he spotted a heartbeat. He withdrew and wore his headgear back on.
"All units, return to base! Foreigner is down! I repeat, foreigner is down!"
He stood observing her as she took agitated breaths, and kept track of her pulse every second, pressing his fingertips slightly against the side of her neck.
"Copy!"
The girl moaned in pain, moving her head.
"Hang in there." The young fox quickly unbuckled her seat belts and scooped her in his arms, taking her out of the damaged ship. He then climbed into his Arwing and set her down beside him since the ship only had one seat. He then started the engines and took off, followed by his teammates.
"Who was that, Fox?" Slippy asked.
He set the thrusters to jet his Arwing into the sky before looking at the girl next to him. "It's a... human. A girl."
"A girl?! Is this what that nonsense of a breach is all about?!" Falco nearly yelled.
"I'm not sure, but she needs immediate medical support."
"Understood!"
All four Arwings sailed into the stars, returning to the mother ship.
20 hours later...
"How long is this gonna' take?!" An annoyed male exclaimed loudly. "It's been 20 hours! She's slept in nearly an entire day!"
"Shh! Be quiet! You're gonna' wake her up!" Responded a whispering male voice full of youth.
"Well, it's too late now. Look." A more serious-sounding voice said, it sounded rather collected and calm.
"Uuuuugh. What just happened? Is this a dream?" I mumbled.
I finally woke up to a strong headache, clutching my head. I found myself in some sort of recovery chamber and rubbed my eyes. I also realized there was bandages surrounding my forehead.
"Huh?!"
I supported myself up with my elbows and watched with shrunken pupils as three of the four members of the infamous squad, Starfox, stood there staring at me. There was Fox McCloud, the (CUTE) Starfox leader, Falco Lombardi, legendary ace pilot and a bit of a hothead, and Slippy Toad, youthful tech and science genius. My jaw dropped at the sight of them, and focused my sight mostly on Fox as I was a huge fan of him when I was, like, 6 or 8 years old!
"Oh my gosh, it's Fox McCloud!"
"You're up." Fox approached my side and crossed his arms.
I seemed to have forgotten about whatever happened recently, so I spoke rather nervously and with a coy attitude. "U-um... h-hi. What happened?"
"You remained unresponsive for 20 hours."
I perked up. "20 HOURS?!"
"Yep. You were lucky to make it out alive, for someone quite unexperienced at piloting airships."
"That's the funny thing. I-I don't even know how to fly an airship. But I do have knowledge of who you are."
"Huh?" I saw Fox raise an eyebrow before I took the chance to hug him for the very first time.
"You're Fox McCloud! Oh my gosh, I can't believe you're REAL!"
Fox squirmed as I hugged him, so I let go of him nicely, the others had weird looks.
"Okay, I'm baffled. How do you even know him?" Falco asked, looking at me.
I smiled at him. "You'd ve surprised to know that, Falco Lombardi." I winked. He was heavily surprised by the fact I knew his name.
Fox took a step towards me. "Okay, whoever you are, state your mission, and do it now." He said very seriously.
I was literally pinned against the wall. The ship, their presence, and... I was wearing a pilot's suit! And it was PINK!
"Oh! Um..." I didn't know how to respond at first, which made Fox cast a glance at me. I couldn't just look into those vivid green eyes. They made me blush! "I... am part of the Dream squad, wingman of the team!" I wanted to facepalm myself at that name I just made up before I heard a scoff and a laugh coming from Falco.
"You've got to be kidding! You don't even look like a pilot!"
"At least I managed to fly some airship!" I responded back at the hothead.
"That still doesn't answer my question. Why did you came to us?" Fox asked again.
I sighed. "Okay, fine! I lied, okay? I'm not from any squad, I have no mission, and I don't even own that ship! I was watching some cool videos of you guys on my phone last night, then I fell asleep. And the next thing I know, I wake up in this dimension!"
"Pfft! That doesn't make any sense at all." Said Falco.
"But it happened!" I started feeling ecstatic. "Oh, this is awesome! I finally have a chance to live an adventure with you guys! For REAL!"
"What, you've dreamed of this before?" He shot a glance at me.
"YES! You see, this may sound crazy, and none of you will ever believe me." I cleared my throat. "Like I said, I woke up in this dimension, inside a freaking airship. I somehow came here after making a wish to live an adventure with you guys." I sighed. "You guys don't exist in the dimension which I come from. In fact, out there you're nothing more than video game characters."
"Okay, stranger, if that was just to insult us, my best suggestion is you walk away!"
"Falco!"
"Hey! I'm not insulting anyone. That's my reality! At least in my dimension, that is. But here it all feels so different! I mean, I can finally hang out with the entire Starfox team!"
"Well good luck with that." Falco said a bit rudely before Slippy stopped him.
"Hey! That's rude!"
The two soon had a little silly argument as Fox looked away, seemingly thinking. I looked at him and couldn't keep my eyes off of him, that was until he looked at me. I turned my gaze away, blushing slightly.
"Let her rest and recover. We'll eventually find a solution."
"Eventually?! What if it was Andross the one responsible for this?! He has some teleportation device after all! Maybe he's tricked us!" Falco exclaimed as the three walked away.
"Whatever it is, we're keeping her until the plot is solved. That's an order."
"Ah, Fox's sweet but serious voice is like music to my ears." I thought.
I laid down and tried to find some sleep, thinking over how cool being in their dimension was, but also wondering how my wish suddenly came true.
