Hidden Adventures

As I watched my grandson walk out of my lab with his first Pokémon partner in its Pokeball I find myself letting out a sigh of relief and looking behind me at the two Pokémon still in my care who were looking at me with those big innocent expressions on their faces.

Their innocent expressions where lost on me by the fact that they were still covered in twigs and mud. I let out a heavy sigh as I find myself forgiving them, even though I had spent the past three hours looking for them in the tall grass and bushes of the small route that led to the next down. Next time I find myself deciding that I would close and lock all windows and doors before letting out the three new Pokémon, I had forgotten just how curious young inexperienced Pokémon could be.

Deciding that I had let the pair suffer for long enough while waiting to see just how angry and upset I was with them I turned and walked towards the pair and knelt down in front of them while making sure that my face held no anger or negative emotion.

"I am not angry with you or upset with you, I am just a bit frustrated that the three of you ran off like that," I told them with understanding and kindness in my voice, "But how about from now on you both stick with me or your new trainer until you have some experience under your belt?"

A relieved smile came to my face as both Pokémon let out a cry of agreement before rushing forwards and did their best to hug me, one nuzzled their head against my bent leg while the other one wrapped its small orange arms around my other leg. At their actions I found myself losing whatever fire I had to begin with when I started to search for the trio of starter Pokémon when they had first went missing.

With both Pokémon held safely in my arms I stood back up and turned around only to find one of my assistants looking at me nervously. I gave him a comforting look that got him speaking quickly and nervously but to the point.

"Professor, two new trainers have come to chose their first Pokémon," my assistant said as he looked at the adorable sight the two young Pokémon made, "The fourth trainer has yet to arrive through...and there is only two Pokémon left..."

"Do not worry, I do have a...spare Pokémon," I reply as I turn and glance at the hidden compartment that hid the extra Pokeball, "Now how about we get these two all clean up and ready to met their new trainer?"

"Y-Yes Professor!" my assistant stutters out and quickly took the calm fire type out of my arms, "Another assistant is talking to the two new trainers and explaining everything to them now so we have about ten minutes or so."

Nodding my head I look down at the Grass type Pokémon in my arms only to find myself asking myself a question. Was I ready to take on another adventure and give these two young Pokémon a bath?

The End.
