Hey! ^^
This is my first fanfic. It takes place after Brisingr and we follow the elves as they capture different cities in the Empire.
The story begins just after the city Ceunon has been captured.
Oh, and it's from Queen Islanzadí's pov.
Please enjoy and review! :D
CHAPTER 1
´So be it`
Queen Islanzadi of the elves stood on a hill, overlooking the city of Ceunon.
Her elven warriors were scattered about the land, some controlling the city, others fighting down the remains of Galbatorix's soldiers. Her excellent eyesight, and of course, their glittering armours, helped her keeping track of her warriors.
Her counselor Däthedr approached, for she had sent for him.
"Islanzadí Dröttning. Astra esterní ono thelduin." The silver-haired elf bowed before her and she answered, as courtesy bid her: "Atra du evarínya ono varda."
Däthedr met her eyes as he finished: "Un atra mor'ranr lífa unin hjarta onr. You have sent for me?"
She eyed him carefully before turning around, once again overlooking the battlefield. "Will you report to me; what is the current situation in Ceunon?" Däthedr joined her in overlooking the land. "We have by now managed full control over the city. The soldiers of the Empire have been slain. No resistance is left." Islanzadí nodded before sighing heavily. "I have always known that our people once more would dress in armour and cause fear and blood to be spilled over the land. Yes, the day the elven-warriors would leave Du Weldenvarden has always been expected. But I cannot say that I do not long for the trees." Her words were followed by another sigh. Däthedr eyed her, while he spoke: "The longing is a part of the life of any elf. It is one of our few weaknesses, but I dare say that we have learned to control it well." Islanzadí turned and gave him a thin smile. "Thank you Däthedr-vodhr. Your counsel is always appreciated." He nodded, bowed, and left.
Evening fell and Islanzadí withdrew to her tent. She held a cup of tea and her slender hands turned the cup over and over again while she was lost in thoughts
The battle had gone well and she had lost only a small number of elves. Ceunon was taken and the elves had begun the battle against Galbatorix. And it was about time. Who knew to whom the last egg in Galbatorix's possession would hatch? Islanzadí closed her eyes as she massaged her temples. These questions did not contain an answer, so she turned her mind towards other matters. It didn't take much time before she called for her servant. "Summon my counselors and the officers of the army. I have orders to give."
