So I was reading something by an author by the name of mankinfan, and it sort of made me think. While the story itself was funnier then mine is, I started thinking, "Hey, yeah! This could happen!" That story was called Before Sora, by the way; check it out and you'll see what I mean.
Also, Happy New Year and let's celebrate this New Year with new fanfiction!
Disclaimer: I don't own Kingdom Hearts or it characters, but I like to take them out and play with them a little when the mood strikes me. They SEEM happy.
Namine
Namine was easily the most powerful member of the Organization, if one took time to think about it. It was obvious to everyone that her power most definitely did not lie in strength (it was impossible for her to overpower her captors, not that she would; she was far too terrified to try), but in her power to manipulate memories. A Witch, they called her, which was inarguable, but her disposition stipulated otherwise.
The reason Namine herself was unaware of her own superiority was obvious: the older members bullied her.
Marluxia was verbally cruel, Zexion often did not feed her, and Larxene was just abusive. And while Lexaeus didn't speak to her (or at all, really) and Vexen couldn't a flying whit, the only person she really liked was Axel. He spoke with her from time to time, commented on her drawings, and intervened when the others were too harsh.
Granted it was because they still needed her, and because he knew (even if she didn't) that he would be alright if she ever found out how truly powerful she was.
Because she could alter their memories, and they wouldn't be any the wiser until after they had all killed each other off.
Which brings us full circle back to the point: Namine was easily the most powerful member of the Organization. And if she should ever realize that the reason she was subjected to such cruelty was because the older members were afraid of her powers, then woe be to them.
Because as sweet and kind as Namine is, she isn't exactly very merciful to those who hurt her and her friends.
END
So this isn't very good, I know, and it's been awhile since I've posted anything, but I felt I ought to get it out before I loose it to fatigue. And besides, not enough people give Namine enough credit because A) they don't like her, or B) Kairi is her Somebody. Personally, I liked Namine; I never finished the game (got stuck on Olympus, which is pathetic) and I really only saw her in KH2, but I thought she was a good character, and didn't see anything wrong with her. Besides, if you really do think about it, from the perspective of the movie A Bug's Life, the members from Castle Oblivion are a bit like the grasshoppers, and her, the ants; the grasshoppers need the ants, but are afraid of their power, and so subjugate them, and when they realize their power, the drive the grasshoppers off. While it may not be the same if Namine came into her own about herself, the situation is similar in that the Organization DOES need her, and they would probably be royally screwed if she decided she wanted vengeance. Go read mankinfan's story to find out why and drop her a line.
And think about the concept a little; just a little.
