Prologue
Her oval-shaped head was white as a sheet, her body pallid; her cheeks sprinkled with light brown spots. Her eyes a glowing azure outlined in black eye-liner - the iris a piercing purple. She could manipulate almost anyone into doing what she wanted just by her eyes. Her full lips were painted with a dark red lip-gloss - a scar ran across her lips ending halfway down her chin. Long, wavy locks of coal-black hair cascaded like a waterfall just passing her elbows - the jet black hair causing her skin to look pallor.
She was clad in an over-sized black jumper and skinny black jeans, muddy, purple, size four converse attached to her feet. She rarely wore bright colours - the fact she never left the cabin - except visiting the lake - didn't help, she didn't see the point in buying clothes. She didn't have anyone to impress out in the forest, it was very unlikely that someone would hike this far out, that's why she liked living so far away from the city.
Her cabin was small and wooden surrounded by a variety of colourful flowers, the cabin was placed by a stream leading to the lake which she swam in almost every morning, only a five-minute walk through the forest. Living alone in the forest didn't scare her - she felt as if she had no fear. After the past few years she wanted to be alone - especially after what she had done, of course she still thought about it but she didn't regret it.
She stood in front of the lake a few minutes away from her cabin taking slow, deep breaths, she raised her hand - as her hand rose so did the water, copying each movement of the girl's hand. The water from the lake started to spin as she twizzled her hand, a grin painted across her face. Being a mutant did have it's advantages but she still loathed her abilities - she couldn't recall the last time she used her powers for good.
"I thought I'd find you at a place like this, Aaralyn." Her hand fell back into place, the water splashing back into the concrete, muddy circular bowl. Her heart was pounding in her chest at the sound of the disembodied male voice, she turned her body slowly. Please don't be him. The same thought ran through her head. The radiating blue eyes landed on the male, she let out a breath of relief, smiling at the boy who stood in front of her.
