Revelations

"Hey, Ems." Nolan Ross looked up from the computer screen, giving Emily Thorne his easy going smile. She was wearing jeans and a grey top, positively conservative compared to his bright red, stripy jacket and his un-patterned red jeans.

"Hey, Nolan. You busy?"

"Programming, actually." He glanced up at her and smiled again. "But just finishing up. What's on your mind?"

"I need you," she said, staring at him. She stepped closer and Nolan closed all of the pages, then turned his laptop off.

"What's next on the revengagenda?" he crossed his arms, smirking.

"I need you," was all she said.

"Okay…" he drew the word out, confused. "Where's Aiden?"

"Gone. That's why I need you."

"What for, Ems? I can't help if I don't know the plan." He reminded her. They had come so far since the beginning of her journey. He didn't want to go back to being filled in after the plans were complete. Emily hesitated, then moved so she was standing right next to him.

"It's not revenge." She smiled shakily at him.

"Well, what is it?" he asked, holding his hands up. She grabbed them, then flinched, but kept hold of them. Physical contact from the ice queen? Now he was starting to worry.

"I don't know how to say this, so I'm going to have to tell you like this."

"Like this? What are you—" she kissed him. Nolan didn't respond, kept still with his eyes wide open.

"I need you," she said, for the third or fourth time that evening. He tried to remember if she had ever told him that before. He couldn't.

"Uhh…" he was trying to think of something to say, anything to say, but this revelation had left him breathless.

"Of course you don't feel that way," she frowned a little and sighed. "I'll go." She moved to let go of his hands, but he held hers in response.

"No… I—I've just never thought about you before in that way."

"We flirt a lot," she pointed out.

"I flirt with everyone." He retorted, smirking and cocking his left eyebrow.

"Just forget it, I'll go." Emily said, attempting to break away again. Nolan pulled her closer to him instead and held her.

"Let me just think about this for a little bit, okay? I didn't think you'd ever want me. Aiden, Jack—even Daniel, at one point. Why would you ever look at me?"

"You're Nolan." she said simply. She thought for a moment, then added: "You're the only person I can trust." They looked at one another a little longer, still holding each other in an almost hug. "I think I'm in love with you," Emily blurted out, looking surprised as she said it. One of her hands flew up to cover her mouth, but Nolan smiled and took it away, replacing it with his lips. They kissed tentatively, gently touching lips together, then deepening the kiss. Tongues soon came into the equation, but they kissed slowly. Nolan pulled away.

"You know I would do anything for you," Nolan cleared his throat. "I love you too, Ems. So if you need me—and I'm beginning to sense that you do—" they laughed. "Then I'm here for you. Whatever you want."

"Good." Emily said, pulling his face back down to hers so she could kiss him thoroughly.
