Got bored with plot and decided a rewrite of this story, changed the title from "Harry Potter No More" to "The Fellowship of the Fox".

Will still be AU and contain time travel, Fem!Harry, pairings still haven't decided yet.

Update 2015-03-10: Fixed several errors & mistakes I seemed have missed.

Update 2015-04-27: Now been betaed by Dragon Ashes. Thank you for that, Dragon Ashes.

Update 2018-03-16: Now completely rewritten and put through Grammarly, please tell me what of this new, hopefully, improved version of this story.

Update 2018-03-20: Sorry for this and thanks for your patience. This will hopefully be the last rewrite. I also think I might have over complicated the ritual there, but don't know really.

Chapter 1 – Preparations

The second war against Voldemort had been truly devastating and had cost more lives then Voldemort's first rise ever had. Sure they had won in the end, but only just barely, and it had been quite the pyrrhic victory, with a price that had been way too steep. The Patil twins and their family had been wiped out not long before the last battle. So had Anthony Goldstein and Michael Corner their family. Most of the Weasley family fell in the final battle, and so had Nymphadora Tonks, Remus Lupin, along with several others. Alicia Spinnet, Romilda Vane, the Creevey brothers, and Justin Finch-Fletchley, they along with their families, had lost their lives in when Death Eaters had attacked their houses in surprise. Katie Bell had perished along with Angelina Johnson when Draco Malfoy had let Death Eaters into the castle in their sixth year. And Neville lost both of his parents and grandmother during a Death Eater raid on St. Mungo's. While Luna had lost her father when Death Eaters had come to her house. While Sirius Black, Cedric Diggory, Albus Dumbeldore, and Alastor Moody had lost their lives in the years before.

They had lost Cedric in their fourth year when at the end of Triwizard tournament when Voldemort had made his return. While Sirius had died in their fifth year, during a battle in the Department of Mysteries. Dumbeldore had been killed at the end of their sixth year by Severus Snape, and Moody had perished in an ambush just before their seventh. Only a tenth of the magical population in Britain had survived the war. The number of victims in muggle world was still unknown, they only knew it had been several hundreds.

It had not been that long after the final battle when Harry had decided that the past needed to be changed, and it really hadn't taken long for Ron and Hermione to find out what Harry had been up to. They had been quite adamant about joining Harry on this quest of his, they had soon been followed by Luna, Ginny, and Neville. Many long years of study and research had been dedicated towards this goal. They studied everything from wandmaking and enchanting, to curse breaking and spell crafting. They had researched Blood Magic and Parsel Magic, even Runic Magic, and Shamanic Magic, just in case they could find anything useful in there. They had even managed to convince a few of their surviving friends, along with the goblins, to help them with their project.

But now, after many arduous months of resource gathering and preparations, they were finally ready to put their plan into action. The goblins were the ones who had provided them with a means to send someone far back in time. It had been decided that it would be Harry to take the trip back, but actually, Harry volunteered and had refused to really take "no" for an answer.

They had quickly realized that as Harry Potter and the Boy-Who-Lived he would have way to much focus on him to do what he wanted or needed to do. Harry would need to be as inconspicuous as possible, so for that, the Boy-Who-Lived would need to disappear, so the first part of their plan was to alter Harry's appearance. And since they were going down this path anyway, they had decided to go all out. So they would change not only his appearance but also change his gender, along with de-age him a bit while they were at it.

The main reason for these radical changes was not only so that very few people would be able to connect him to the person he would become, but also making it so people would naturally underestimate him more. From personal experience, they knew that people often let guards down more around small children, especially little girls. And since he was going to travel such troubled times, they had also decided they would give him some extra perks to help things along.

Their research had shown them that this could be accomplished through various rituals they had found. According to some texts they had found, there were rituals that would grant a person traits from an animal. They would mix that with some potion-based rituals to permanently alter one's sex and age. But after much hassle and hard work, they managed to combine the rituals into one potion based blood ritual, that they hoped would work.

"Is everything set?" a goblin asked the assembled crew of witches and wizards.

They were in a large ritual room located deep underneath Gringotts, that had been carved out of the living stone in the shape of a dodecahedron with each of its hexagonal faces having a diameter of exactly 100 feet. The room was entered partway up its sloped side and a set of stairs led down to the ritual space on the floor. Every hexagonal face, with the exception of the one at the base of the room, was completely covered in intricate runes and circles, with numerous powerful and ancient seals and symbols lining them, circling around and within them. They were archaic and arcane, many people would never be able to read those symbols. They were made to tap into the local ley lines to power any rituals to be performed without requiring not much of the caster's energy and at far greater strengths than normally possible. Energy had been gathered within those circles, that was roaring and powerful. Making many of them glowing a myriad of different colours.

"Yes, everything is set," Hermione replied somewhat nervously from the hexagonal face at the base of the room, were a very complex circle, with lettering of a language only a few understood running alongside the outside. The circle was a masterpiece, and had a diameter of 77 feet and was perfectly spherical. About a foot from the outer circle, there were multiple, elongated ovals that spanned across the entire inside of the circle, six in all, forming what looked almost like an atom. Along the inner edges of the symbol, strange runes had been inscribed, that almost appeared to shift from one to another. Located between each point there was an alchemical symbol for one of the planets, while inside of each point had a zodiac symbol. In the middle of the atom symbol, another symbol had been placed, that was just big touching the insides of the atom.

It was composed of two circles, one square, and one star, nested one within another. The outermost shape was the circle, followed by a square inside it, whose corners are touching the circle. Inside the square sits another circle, just large enough to touch the midpoints of the square's sides. The inner circle holds an eight-pointed star, lines radiate out from the points of the star, piercing all the way through both circles, every other line bisecting a corner of the square.

In the corners outside the outer circle there was an alchemical symbol for one of the four elements; over the symbol earth was stood, Hermione; while Ginny was standing over the one that represented fire; Luna had placed herself over the water symbol; while over the symbol for earth stood Gabrielle Delacour, who had wanted to help them more, but had been unable to help with anything else, expect participating in this ritual. Strange markings, that clearly looked painted on with coarse paint, could be seen on every visible part of their bodies, and what looked like an inverted S or a five, that had an accent mark on the side of it, sat on their foreheads.

Directly at the star's center were three concentric rings shaped like gears that were somehow also overlapping. That also appeared to somehow move or shift whenever they were not directly focused on. Focusing on any one part of the circles, however, was a quite difficult prospect with the way they seemed to contradict themselves, and forcing your eyes to focus on the circles simply led to a headache. As your mind attempted to comprehend what seemed to be beyond any humans understanding. Inside one of the circles laid a red wolf, which was had been captured for just for this ritual, and was currently deep asleep. In the middle of all this stood Harry upon the alchemical for the fifth element, aether or ether, a.k.a. the void or the sky. In front of him was a pair of crystal vials, one containing a complex potion that had brewed just for this ritual, while the other was filled with what Harry knew was blood taken from a Chinese Fireball.

"Well then, let's get this show on the road," Harry said and grabbed the vial with dragon blood in it. He then began an incantation in an ancient Germanic language, as he poured out the contents in a wide circle around him. His voice echoed off the hexagonal faces of the room, and as it did the multitude of runes that had been carved into the rock began to glow a dull red as the room thrummed with power. As the circle, he stood in lit up a brilliant blue and its incomprehensible motion, which before could have been attributed to tricks of the light, was now clearly visible.

After he was done chanting, Neville, Ron, and the gathered goblin shamans standing outside the outer circle began to chant in archaic some tongue. As they chanted the rest of the drawings on the floor began to pulsate and glow, as did the marks on the girls' foreheads, soon followed by the other marks on their bodies. This promoted the girls to start their own short chant in Latin before they each pulled out a silver athame which they drew across their palms with a wince. They let their blood flow for a short while before they started on another short Latin chant, ending it slamming their bleeding hand into the symbol below them, making them glow scarlet. Along with all the making the marks on the girls' bodies flare up for a moment, and they would later swear it felt like their skin was crawling.

A few seconds after that, Harry grabbed the last vial and swallowed its contents all in one go. He almost instantly fell to his knees as the pain neutralized his body, the air around him seemed to crackle and flash like lighting. His insides burned and an unbearable pain began to enveloped his body, it was as if he was fighting off a raging demon within him. Red markings, similar to those of the girls, travelled from every visible part of his body. As the marks grew on his body, the fabric around them burned away, making what was left of his clothes fall off, exposing his skin. His arms, legs, and torso were covered in symbols, along with a mark of on his forehead. It was much like girls, only his marks were rounder, more stylized and have more additions to the S, unlike girls simpler S design.

Harry thrashed, gasping and groaning. Sweat poured in glistening trails over the dips and rises of his body, chest heaving as he took halting, shuddering breaths. He felt ill, his stomach queasy and his body in immense pain, his muscles felt taut and strained, a small sheen of sweat was covering his body, the marks gleamed with an eerie light as they crawled over his skin.

As the ritual reached its climax, the intensity of the light emanating from the circle grew and its erratic motions intensified until it seemed frenzied. A sudden explosion of light and magic then threw everyone, besides Harry, out of the circles and against the walls. Anyone who had been in the circle was knocked out as they hit the wall. When Neville's and Ron's vision returned, their jaws just about dropped to the floor as they saw Harry being surrounded by chaotic torrents of wild magic, swirling like a turbulent storm around him. After a few minutes of this, the ceiling and the floor began to crack, and even the walls suffered some damage under the pressure of the magic.

They all watched in horror as the markings body only grew brighter, he floated into the air, unknown chants seemed to come from around him. The on marks on his body then seemed to turn into iridescent crimson flames, which were quickly spread across his skin. They burned him, consuming what was left of his clothes and caught his hair on fire. From his hair, it seemed to inflame his brain, because it was suddenly once again ablaze with infernal pain. Harry gasps, his breathing heavy, his entire body spasming as his skin flaking and reabsorbing into his skin, reforming itself. The very air seemed to tremble as they watched Harry hanging naked in the air for about a second or two, they saw open his mouth in a silent scream. Then the magic seemed to wrap itself around him and forming a perfect sphere of pure magic surrounding him.

After that, they had been unable to see what was happening, as the sphere seemed to become nothing but a sphere of solid bright light, and the air around it began to pulsate and small shockwaves began to ripple out from it. For several minutes, that felt like hours, the sphere just seemed to hang there, with Harry's friends, those that were conscious that is, were almost going crazy with various worries and what ifs. After what felt like a long time of waiting, suddenly there was a crack, that was more felt than heard, as the pulses steadily began stronger and tears started to appear here and there on the sphere. Then with a bright flash that drowned area in light and blinded everyone, the sphere exploded into a million pieces in a single burst the sphere. The pieces of the sphere looked like a rainbow-colored meteor shower, that disappeared whenever they hit anything.

When the light finally had died down, what meet their eyes made most of them gasp somewhat. Suspended in the air were Harry once had been, where someone that didn't look anything like the Harry they knew. Harry's new body seemed to be that off a small girl that was quite thin, but not to the point that it was unhealthy. It had a petite appearance, that quite cute, if not adorable. He was also seemed very small, all things considered; probably no more then 4 feet tall, and he was so skinny he couldn't have weighed more than 45 pounds, they guessed.

The body itself seemed really healthy; although his skin was now excessively pale, and made them worry about vitamin D deficiency. Harry's new soft, immature charm was evident even on his legs and feet; which were long, slender, and in excellent shape. Heck, his thighs seemed to be slimmer than then their arms. The ridges and depressions of his gently curving ribs surrounded the utterly flatness of his chest, with concave curves of his waist, and little curved bellybutton, modest hips, and... Yep, he had that too, Ron had awkwardly confirmed it with a slight blush.

It felt actually weird for them to think about Harry in these terms, both Neville and Ron thought, as ever so slowly Harry started to descend. While it wasn't inaccurate, but merely pointing it out seemed like kind of a bad thing. The first and foremost, the most obvious feature off Harry's new body was the long, bright red in colour, and fell down to his feet, burning into a fiery orange as it made its way down his body, which is as long as she is tall, and whose ends curl outward at the end. It was thick and seemed to be full of life and was literally radiating with an inner glow of its own, unlike anything either Neville or Ron had ever seen.

The next thing they couldn't help but notice was the pair large wolf ears where his ears should have been. Not to mention the big and fluffy tail that was now protruding from the end of his spine, while Harry, himself, still seemed to be deep asleep. Another thing they noticed was Harry eyes, while they were still closed, they now seemed to have what almost looked like natural light gold eyeshadow and eyeliner. Although, while some of those things had been somewhat expected, as the ritual had been to turn Harry into a girl, which he now was. He was supposed to into a twelve-year-old, but he now looked to be about seven. They had no idea what was going on with his eyes or ears as they really should be like that, not to mention the tail, it shouldn't even exist at all.

As they carefully approached the man newly turned girl, Ron slowly reached out with his hand to turn his old friend over. As Neville sat down on the floor beside him, still in shock at what he had seen, looking at Harry. Harry's new body really was spotless as a porcelain doll, and it was so soft that actual porcelain felt like sandpaper, by comparison, Ron couldn't but help to remark to himself. There was not one single blemish or scar visible on his entire body, that could ever prove that this was Harry. As the famed and ever-present lightning bolt shaped scar that had been on his forehead was no more.
