Cahil Ixia was fuming. How could she??? How could she embarrass me in front of my men? How could she do that when I am letting her travel "with" us instead of being my prisoner? And then, she has the nerve to tell me that my sword is too heavy!!
Staring at him was Yelena, a beautiful spy from Ixia, who claims that she is from the Zaltana Clan.
She beat me. I can't believe she beat me using a bow, a piece of wood carved into a long sturdy stick. I can't believe she did this with out some kind of help. She must have used magic. I know she has some, even though I don't know what she can do with it.
She was almost asleep, when she must have felt me stalking to ward her. I was definitely pulsing with angry vibes.
Yelena was no fool. She stood up and took a step back.
"You humiliated me in front of my men," I hissed.
You asked me to show you how my bow could defend against a sword. I was only doing what you wanted."
"It wasn't an honest match."
"What?"
"Leif said that you used magic during the fight. That you made me tired."
"I did not," she stated, furiously clenching her teeth.
"Then what did?"
"You really want to know?"
"Do you really have an answer?" I shot back.
"You need to get off your horse and run with your men. You don't have the stamina for a long fight. And find a lighter sword."
Use a lighter sword? How was that going to change anything?
"But it was my uncle's."
"But you're not your uncle."
"But I'm the king, and this is the king's sword," I said, a little confused but I was really trying to hide it.
"So wear it to your coronation. If you use it in battle, you'll wear it to your funeral."
