Raindrops

Raindrops

Rubbing my arms with cries of disgust,

Trying to erase the stains so vile.

He turned toward me slowly,

And managed one shaky smile.

One smile.

Cooling raindrops fell,

Comforting words, they tell.

My pain, they eased.

My nightmares, they teased.

My crackled lips stretched,

Resembling a smile, not by much.

He walked toward me,

And reached out, one gentle touch.

One touch.

A light breeze blow,

Taking away the burning dust.

Something inside me seemed to glow,

My courage, my sanity will last.

I turned around,

Trickling from my eye, a single tear.

My source of bravery found,

I held him dear.
