The Change v.2
HELLO TOBIAS, WE MEET AGAIN.
The voice was huge. It filled my brain and seemed to resonate throughout my body. My feathers quivered. My fingers tingled.
Fingers?
Only then did I begin to realize that I was changed. It was as if I could see everything, from every angle at once. I had arms that were wings. I had a beak but it was a mouth too. There was only one species that could do this.
"Ellimist"
He appeared in a turquoise glow, a bird of prey. Some indefinable shape, part falcon, part eagle, part hawk.
TOBIAS, YOU ARE A BEGINNING. YOU ARE A POINT ON WHICH AN ENTIRE TIMELINE MAY TURN.
I guess that should have made me feel important, but it didn't. I didn't get this. Why was the Ellimist bothering with me? All I knew was that I knew what I wanted, if the Ellimist kept his promise. If.
TOBIAS, I HAVE BEEN WATCHING YOU.
I gasped.
"You have?"
YES, AND I HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU.
"What? What for?" I demanded.
THINK OF ME AS YOUR FAIRY GODMOTHER.
"My WHAT?! My fairy godmother?"
YES, LIKE IN CINDERELLA. THE DISNEY VERSION. "Ah. So what is it that you're gonna give me?" I asked curiously. Hoping.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TOBIAS?
"You know what I want" I said, almost choking on the words. "You know."
YES. BUT DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT, TOBIAS?
I paused for a second. "Yes." I stated.
OH? YOU DO?
"Yes." I repeated, the tension in my voice rising.
The Ellimist nodded slowly, even though he was an indefinable birdshape.
YES, I FEAR YOU DO KNOW.
WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR GIFT NOW?
"Yep, sure." I said calmly, but my mind was racing. Would he really do it? Will I get my wish? I could barely keep still I was so nervous.
TOBIAS, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE?
"A never-ending pack of Tim Tams!" I yelled, bursting with excitement.
The Ellimist was silent for a while. Then, he spoke up...
IT IS DONE.
