Year of 2003
Another chapter of life ends… The year of 2003 has drawn itself to a close. It's the first day of the New Year.
There are a lot of things I'd like to do over, things I'd like to make right, but it wouldn't be New Year if there was no remorse.
The year which passed gave all of us nothing, but it did snatch away, things, very precious… The biggest losses were of hope, of trust, of faith, which got lost in the dark shadows of this year.
The setting sun of the last evening has clearly imparted that the dark shadows will not end, but only lengthen. This year has taught that promises and principles mean nothing, nothing at all… and following them will probably lead to your own undoing…
The tides of the sea don't ebb just because all the ships aren't safely across, what do they have to do with the safety of the passengers. What concern do they have, if the ship has reached the shore or in the middle of the violent sea.
There are even such unfortunate souls in whose life the sun rises, it also sets, days and night change, but the seasons remain at a halt. Life becomes unchanging, the world keeps on spinning, moving in front of their very eyes, but life remains at a stand still.
Her pen stopped for a moment and she closed her eyes thinking about Kai's ghostly expression when he left for Russia, a month after BEGA. How much you care about someone apparently did not depend on how enjoyable you found their company, but how much you missed them when they were gone. She winced, and then letting out a sigh, continued.
Things will not _ can not, go back to the way they were; the outcome of all that has happened this year will forever leave a mark upon, all of our lives. It has changed everything. All that has happened will let me stay alive, but it will never let me live in peace.
The distant sound of a bell ringing entered Hiromi's ears; she put down her pen, and stared fixatedly at the piece of parchment, she crumpled it into a ball and stuffed it in her bag. Sighing, she got up from her unnoticeable place on the bleachers, the rays of the late morning sun, and the cold winds of winter slashing against her jacketless back, and began walking towards the school building. Year 2003 has indeed, left an inerasable mark…
Happy New Year, everyone.
This is sort of placed in the time period of my two shot (I promise the second part will be put up, eventually.) 'The Little Things Give You Away' between the first scene when Kai leaves and the second when Hilary goes to see Mr. Tate at the hobby shop. I'd recommend reading the story it'll clear things up, though it's not necessary. I think it would be 2004 after the BEGA incident though I'm not sure.
I hope everyone has a great 2012!
R and R...
