On shores of sea forever lost

Onto which memories have been tossed

Alone and barren the beach does lie

Far beneath a waning sky

Strewn across is sand so cold

Ice cracks around frozen heart's hold

Songs pierce the midnight air

It seems that someone still is waiting there

This place, forgotten, to all but one

From many things now past, to these shores did he run

Alone now he wanders still here

Forever forbidden to return to her so dear

Without even one by his side, he has walked

And to the wind, long has he talked

For ever will he roam alone

Sorrow played deep into his bone

That which he endured and what he did; forgotten

Perhaps for better for one who inner rotten

Could - might yet be - repeat that sin

And always lose, never to win

Songs forgotten and lost now sung

Over the land have been hung

Like seeds of star appearing into the night

As if a slowly fading, failing light
