Every nation in the entire world seemed to be crammed into the meeting room; a babble of languages filled the air as other argued amongst themselves. Some were colonies, seeking independence, others the European countries who'd fought in the war, and still others rising world powers. Japan was one of these, and he had his worries about this 'League of Nations' and how much control of it the European nations would have. Just from watching the way they treated China, he knew these people thought little of other countries outside of Europe.
He glanced over at America, who was also a rising world power. They were quite alike, the two of them. They were not at all like these Europeans, who seemed to spend all their time killing each other. The blonde nation seemed incredibly bored, and seemed to desire little to do with this...this pandemonium.
Japan cleared his throat, trying to get the room's attention. This, of course, didn't work...until America noticed he was trying to say something.
"Hey! Japan has something to say!" He announced loudly, thoroughly embarassing the Asian nation. Westerners...
Japan stood quietly, as the nations turned to gawk at him. He cleared throat solemnly, before speaking.
"I would like to include a clause that requires the members of this league to cease racist intentions."
The room quickly erupted in chatter, as some of the darker-skinned nation murmured agreement amongst themselves, and the European nations sputtered and shot it down.
"I don't think we need that sort of clause." England pointed out, as France nodded in agreement.
"It's isn't really necessary, oui? So let's move on to other issues..."
Japan looked over at America...who was napping. He tentatively leaned across the table.
"America-san...don't you agree there should be a clause prohibiting racism?" He prompted.
America looked at him sleepily.
"Hm? Oh...naw..."
Japan sat back, stunned. He had thought America would support him! He folded his hands in his lap, shaking slightly. Those racist Western countries...
He would never forget this betrayal...
